Default New leaders in Damascus call for cordial Syria ties with a resistant Israel

Sounds good on paper. Seems doubtful anyone thinks it's going to be that easy.

Question. How does Jordan feel about Israel? My baseline is this mayor is lying and can't be trusted.

Not to bad. They have an active border crossing with Israel. Egypt does but Lebanon and Syria do not.

Both Jordan and Egypt are nervous. Along with Saudi Arabia and Iran. Successful popular uprisings elsewhere could be problematic for them if they start giving peons ideas.

Jordan has denounced Israel's war in Gaza, and Israel's grab in Golan. They DO have to play ball with Israel to get US coverage in case of war.

Don't know that this guy is lying or not. Too soon to tell. I don't see them going full jihad though so long as their primary benefactor is Turkey. Turkey knows how to play the bullshit diplomacy game with the West. IMO, at best, Syria will be a clone of Turkey. Nationalist Muslims.
