My only question has to be the structural integrity of the door. Can it take a hit? Other than that, I have to say this is pretty cool.

I'm sure that it could be designed for that. That would be a nice feature if available, especially in a crowded parking lot.

No doubt. And it looks cool opening (lowering??). Kinda like the gull-wings were back in the day, or suicide doors.
