For some reason, I thought I had started a thread by this title here when I first joined, but it appears as though I was wrong.
The premise is simple, hit shuffle on your iPod (or whatever type of mp3 player you may have) and list the first five songs that play.
Saturday Night Shuffle:
Cheeseburger in Paradise - Jimmy Buffett
Susie Q - Creedence Clearwater Revival
Memories - Elvis Presley
Leave it - Yes
25 Minutes to Go - Johnny Cash

Wow, I figured it would all be Jimmy Buffett :)
Jimmy may be my favorite, and he may be the only performer I will pay to see besides Brian Setzer, but my musical taste is varied and sometimes eclectic. As long as it isn't rap or hip-hop, I'll give it a chance.

The name Wednesday comes from the Middle English Wednes dei, which is from Old English
Wēednes dææg, meaning the day of the Germanic god Woden (Wodan) who was a god of the
Anglo-Saxons in England until about the 7th century. Wēednes dææg is like the Old Norse
Oððinsdagr ("Odin's day"), which is an early translation of the Latin dies Mercurii ("Mercury's
day"), though Mercury (the messenger of the gods) and Woden (the king of the Germanic gods) are
not equivalent in most regards Shuffle:

”What's a film about, what's it really about? What genre does it take?”
“What, like the spine? Like one sentence?”
“No, I don't, fucking boy meets girl, I don't give a shit about that. Fuck boy meets girl, fuck motorcycle movie. No, what is really being said? What's really being said, that's what you're talking about. 'Cause the whole idea, man, is subversion. You want subversion on a massive level.
You know what one of the greatest fucking scripts ever written in the history of Hollywood is? Top Gun.”
“Oh, come on.”
“Top Gun is fucking great. What is Top Gun? You think it's a story about a bunch of fighter pilots.”
“It's about a bunch of guys waving their dicks around.”
“ It is a story about a man's struggle with his own homosexuality. It is! That is what Top Gun is about, man. You've got Maverick, all right? He's on the edge, man. He's right on the fucking line, all right? And you've got Iceman, and all his crew. They're gay, they represent the gay man, all right? And they're saying, go, go the gay way, go the gay way. He could go both ways.”
“What about Kelly McGillis?”
“Kelly McGillis, she's heterosexuality. She's saying: no, no, no, no, no, no, go the normal way, play by the rules, go the normal way. They're saying no, go the gay way, be the gay way, go for the gay way, all right? That is what's going on throughout that whole movie...
He goes to her house, all right? It looks like they're going to have sex, you know, they're just kind of sitting back, he's takin' a shower and everything. They don't have sex. He gets on the motorcycle, drives away. She's like, "What the fuck, what the fuck is going on here?" Next scene, next scene you see her, she's in the elevator, she is dressed like a guy. She's got the cap on, she's got the aviator glasses, she's wearing the same jacket that the Iceman wears. She is, okay, this is how I gotta get this guy, this guy's going towards the gay way, I gotta bring him back, I gotta bring him back from the gay way, so I'm do that through subterfuge, I'm gonna dress like a man. All right? That is how she approaches it.
Okay, now let me just ask you--I'm gonna digress for two seconds here. I met this girl Amy here, she's like floating around here and everything. Now, she just got divorced, right?...
All right, but the REAL ending of the movie is when they fight the MIGs at the end, all right? Because he has passed over into the gay way. They are this gay fighting fucking force, all right? And they're beating the Russians, the gays are beating the Russians. And it's over, and they fucking
land, and Iceman's been trying to get Maverick the entire time, and finally, he's got him, all right? And what is the last fucking line that they have together? They're all hugging and kissing and happy with each other, and Ice comes up to Maverick, and he says, ‘Man, you can ride my tail, anytime!’ And what does Maverick say? "You can ride mine!" Swordfight! Swordfight! Fuckin' A, man!”

You never know, but judging from what I've seen so far, our musical circles do not overlap.
That's cool, I'm used to it by now! My favorite album right now is The Raveonettes Lust, Lust, Lust. It sounds a lot like The Jesus and Mary Chain, if you ever listened to them.

Now you see, I liked that. Now I'll write their name down on my list and they will make it to my library. Thanks.
I was going to start a thread about the music we listen to, perhaps I still will, I read once, and I believe it to be basically true, that the music we listen to for the first twenty five years of our life is the music we listen to for the rest of our lives. For the most part I find this to be true. I do pick up new artists from time to time, but I have noticed that their musical stylings are, more often than not, similar to the music of my youth.

”That poem, ‘The Walrus and the Carpenter’ that's an indictment of organized religion. The walrus, with his girth and his good nature, he obviously represents either Buddha, or... or with his tusk, the Hindu elephant god, Lord Ganesha. That takes care of your Eastern religions. Now the carpenter, which is an obvious reference to Jesus Christ, who was raised a carpenter's son, he represents the Western religions. Now in the poem, what do they do... what do they do? They... They dupe all these oysters into following them and then proceed to shuck and devour the helpless creatures en masse. I don't know what that says to you, but to me it says that following these faiths based on mythological figures ensure the destruction of one's inner-being. Organized religion destroys who we are by inhibiting our actions... by inhibiting our decisions, out of... out of fear of some... some intangible parent figure who... who shakes a finger at us from thousands of years ago and says... and says, ‘Do it - Do it and I'll fuckin' spank you’"…Shuffle:
