I've got five. My first one was a rose. Way back in 1982.
Tattoos are the new trend, just remember, they don't wash off and get them somewhere they won't effect your appearance as you get older.

Sorry bout that,
1. Bad idea.
2. Its commonly known that people who have tattoo's don't respect their own skin why would they respect anyone else's?
3. Thats what I heard.

One other thing, when they go over the bone it hurts like a sonofabitch. The one on my back was two hours of pure pain. The one inside my right forearm made my fingers twitch as the crossed over the tendons. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, I'm a big fan of good ink, I'm just not going to candy coat it for you.

I planned on it hurting. One of my friends who got one said it felt like someone touching a lit cigarette end to your skin.

And last but not least, one must know that it doesn't matter how pretty that new tattoo is, give it thirty years and it's going to be a big, blurry, ugly, faded dark patch of garbage on your skin.

My cousin Dahlia wanted to get a tattoo when she was 16. My grandfather told her "tattoos are for sailors, prostitutes and gypsies. Which of those do you want to be?"
Then Dahlia's mom, who was born and raised in Mexico, said "you can tell the whores and criminals from the decent girls by their tattoos."
Old fashion stereotypes and prejudices, of course, but they achieved their purpose. She didn't get the tattoo. And was later grateful.
My mom was far more subtle. When my sister expressed interest in a tattoo once, my mom said that it was her choice. But if she ever saw it, my sister would wake up one morning missing part of her skin.
She also decided against it. :)

Just get the ones that wash off in about 2 weeks..then you can put them anywhere, and change them as often as you want.. They're impossible to cover with makeup, no matter where you put them, and unless they're in your bra, or on your ass, they will show.
Looks pretty tacky when you're dressed in formal wedding clothes..(and if you happen to be standing up in that wedding, pants aren't an option.

is there a chinese symbol meaning "Youth is sublime" that when tatooed on flesh that begins to sag can be reinterpreted as "Old Age is a bitch".........

If you get anything with red ink, make sure that the artist uses organic ink. If it is not, many people have a reaction to it and either bleed it all out (yes, some of the ink will bleed out of your skin regardless, but red seems to flow more) or you'll get little rash-type bumps in the areas that the red is. You may not react at all, but why take that chance on something that will be with you for life?
I have this one on my lower back, which was done about 2 years ago. It needs to be recolored and reshaded as the red has faded a bit from the sun, but the place that I got it done at gives free touch-ups for life, regardless of which artist did the original. The photo was about a few hours after it was done. My husband's is the one below that. His was done by the same artist who did mine. He needs to be touched up on the sword handle and hilt, as the gold has faded a bit:
