A true muslim could not be president as everything in our Constitution and laws goes against islamic law. He would be obliged through his religion to subjugate the rest of the country.

If he's a true Muslim, he'll oppose the Constitution and try to implement sharia law. If he's not a true Muslim, well, I don't want to vote for somebody who claims a faith without actually backing that up.

I honestly do not believe that I could vote for a muslim because as you state they are at (I'll change the word here) odds with our ideals. I wouldn't vote for a Christian that wanted to make us all one big happy Christian family either. I have no problem voting for someone of faith even if that faith were not Christian say Jewish, Hindu or Buddist, but a muslim would (at least for the time being) be very difficult to vote for.

As long as the president upholds the constitution, their private religious beliefs are none of my concern. I realize that no major party would ever nominate one given the current climate... heck, the democrats ran a huge risk running a catholic in 1928 and the attacks on Al Smith claiming that he would be beholden to the Pope helped defeat him. That anti-catholic (rum, romanism and rebellion) mindset has a rich history in America and was prevalent even in 1960. This year, a mormon is trying to break another barrier down and Mitt will have a tough time because of his faith...but things change. What was unthought of a century ago is commonplace today. What is unthought of today will be commonplace in the future. I don't think it is a matter of IF we'll have a black or a woman or a mormon or a jew or a muslim president, it is only a matter of WHEN.

A muslim cannot be a US president. It would be against their "religion" and thus they could not be a true muslim. Islam's goal is to control the entire world and subjugate the people to the will of Islam. Muslims should not ever be allowed in any sphere of power.
