Bush, Dems in PR battle on Iraq money By ANNE FLAHERTY, Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 24 minutes ago
WASHINGTON - President Bush and congressional Democrats are locked in a struggle over Iraq spending, with neither side budging and each calculating that their argument will be the one to resonate with voters. This morning President Bush will address a press conference at 11:00AM Eastern.
Bush will attack the Dems on the War Funding, the AMT, FISA and the Energy Bill that has no energy in it. With the Senate and House back in town it should be a dramatic dual throughout the day... who will blink first?
Bush intends to focus on domestic issues early next year following his success on the Iraq War funding issue... he will blame high gas prices on the Dems for their inability to produce some energy from the energy bill. He will blame them for FISA cuts they desire for security... he will blame them for AMT and failing to continue the Bush Tax Cuts... It should be interesting!
