Everything is Caused by Global Warming (600+ links)
Christopher Alleva
Dr. John Brignell, a British engineering professor, runs a website called numberwatch. He has compiled what has to be the most complete collection of links to media stories ascribing the cause of everything under the sun to global warming. He has already posted more than six-hundred links.

The site's stated mission is to expose all the "scares, scams, junk, panics and flummery cooked up by the media, politicians, bureaucrats and so-called scientists and others that try to confuse the public with wrong numbers" Professor Brignell's motto is "Working to Combat Math Hysteria."

This exercise is not merely a lark to show the abject absurdity of this global warming nonsense. Brignell wrote a great book titled Sorry Wrong Number, The Abuse of Measurement on this very subject.

Dr. Brignell is accepting additions to the list so if you have any send them along.

Yeah, really surprising, especially considering he has a bunch of links to articles written by journalists, not scientists. I guess he doesn't have the ability to successfully refute the scientific papers written about global warming, so instead he links to a bunch of newspaper articles written by journalists as if he was doing anything having to do with real science.

Sorry, I don't buy it. Journalists don't have their articles reviewed by scientists, certainly non anonymous scientists, as all credible scientific journals do. If you want to read about global warming, and especially if you want to 'disprove' it, you should read the actual scientific papers written about it, not a newspaper or a magazine.

Yeah, really surprising, especially considering he will make additions that anyone proposes. Boy, I'm just so surprised.

I would think the fact that anyone proposes that global warming causes so many contrary things would show you how absurd it is.

Global warming is a politicians perfect excuse to incur upon our God given freedom because no matter what happens they can either take credit or blame global warming.

Do you honestly think it's a coincidence that the solution to global warming is socialism?

Is a single one of those links to anything written by a real life scientist, or is it all links to things that journalists have written?

The articles are brought to you "by the media" who are reporting what different scientist are saying.

Are you telling me that if a "scientist" says something the only way you would listen is if it came from his own mouth??

You are such a one trick pony... Why should we believe anything you have to say. Are you a scientist and if so what is your specialty???? Why should we put more credance to your word than that of a reporter reporting what another "scientist" has to say???:poke:

I don't put much stock on a journalist's report on science. Journalists rarely focus the content of their article on science, instead, the bulk of the article tends to be unsupported opinion. That is, someone supporting or denying what is being presented by the scientific community, with nothing overly substantial to back up their claims. Politics, regardless of the angle is always more interesting than real science.

No, I'm telling you that the media's interpretation of something isn't always what it is. Would you rather base your decision on who to vote for President on the words that ly comes out of a candidate's mouth and the actions that the candidate has done in the past, or on what a journalists reads in to those words and actions?

I'm not asking you to put credence in anything I say, I never had. I'm just telling you that a list of articles written by journalists does not constitute evidence of anything having to do with science. If the producer of that list was interested in making a scientific point, he would be listing actual scientific articles written by scientists which contradict one another.
