That's a very cool memory and I'm glad you have the picture of them together to remember the moment. He had the voice of an angel...and he was quite nice to look at too.

Hey Binky ... thought I would tell you and Shadow that I have a picture of my daughter (when she was four - 1980) with Ricky. He was doing the fair circuit at the time and we saw him at the fair in Hanford, CA. He picked her up and the photographer got a great shot of them ..... she looked like she could be his daughter. Of course I almost fainted when he handed her back to me and gave me a hug.....he was my childhood fantasy!!!

That's pretty cool.....You can pass it onto her..... He was a hottie, for sure.... I grew up watching him......While other girls were swooning over Elvis and his pelvis, I was salivating over Ricky......AAAAAAaaaaaahhhhhh.............:laugh2: :laugh2:

Yeah Im feeling bad right now too, so much drama offline all the time. I wish I had a safe haven to rest at and just stay there a while.:cool:

And he was just a regular nice guy. We also have pics of her with Michael Martin Murphy (when she was 10), Tanya Tucker (when she was only 8 months), Alabama (2 years old), and a whole bunch of other performers that did the fair circuit. Her dad managed the county fair and so we had personal access to all the performers.

Last weekend she took her daughter (who is 11), my granddaughter, to see Taylor Swift. My daughter knows a member of her crew who got them into the VIP section (no pictures together or autographs tho).

Yeah i know what you mean shadow, I havebeen in some depression a great length of time, I am waking up and find nobody wants me to....and I have to let go of relationships that have been over a long time and move on with my own life.

Find a corner, and climb into a great book and let it sweep you away into another land..........Go for a walk, take in the scenery, and/or chat with those you meet on the way.....or escape to your local park, sit and read or listen to some music.....Take some bird feed and feed the birdies and squirrels. If there's a pond nearby, lay your feet to rest in the cool water and feel some stress go away.........

Find your solace where you can, Chloe. It is up to you to discover your safe haven.........and then utilize it......

Hope you don't mind if I take your advice also. I have been on sensory overload for awhile now. And it's gotten to the point where I can't talk about it either... if I try, I know I will lose it. I need a break...reading and taking my kids to the park sounds very good to me right now.

Nope hon, it would benefit everyone to take it....believe me, one doesn't need to search far and wide to find a special place to hide away in and enjoy a few precious moments...... Take a book or earphones if you have them....You will find immense enjoyment just chilling in the fresh air and out away from your problems letting some wonderful music seep into your soul.... You don't have to take it Chloe...Be forceful with him and don't let him in....If he is prone to just walking in, then lock the door. Otherwise, stand with your foot in the door and bracing it with your hip so he can't come in. Don't ever take it.... Just close the door honey.... As long as you allow it to happen, he will continue doing it.... If all else fails, check into gettng an injunction against him so he has to stay away from you within so many feet....and off your property....

Take a walk Chloe...You have the power to rid yourself from him. You just don't know it yet....Take a bottle of pepper spray with you while on your walks, then if he comes and bothers you give him a good dose.... Pepper spray is nothing more than pepper in squirt bottle filled with water..... I know you must have those so just get a bottle..... Don't take his crap Chloe. Bullies are nothing more than teeny people with feelings of huge inadeqacies.....It's the little man syndroymn.....

You have to stand your ground girlie girl.....I know you can do this......Show him you're not a weak little girl that he can badger and verbally abuse.....

Careful what you wish for huh, whoh hoo.

Chloe your not far off. I go for Christian music 1st though. But somehow it doesn't seem appropriate to flood this thread with Christian music.
CCM , Old country Christian, black gospel.
Secular I like old 1940, 50s rock n roll, some 60 rock, the Hendrix stuff above was cool. Sixties Folk music, Old Country Western, and Motown and some Jazz, Soundtrack music.
80's it was pop stuff like Devo, Eurythmics, Phil Collins, Gogos, Jackson, Kraftwerk, Some early rap, ( in college lived down the hall from black students that DJed for extra money. Fell in love with a lot of cool Funky stuff, Rap and other obscure Euro pop and African stuff they'd mix.)

Modern stuff 123 I'd say. 1.Christian, CCM/black gospel 2.Electronica-club 3. Folksy bluesy country. At Home I've been playing the new agey Electronica more than typical pop -rock -rap stuff now a days.
I've got pretty eclectic taste though I can find something I like in just about every genre.

generally my least favorite is probably Heavy and Death Metal, but even there I'm surprised some time.

LOL Revlarts, music is a form of communication imo, you can send a feeling or a sentiment through music or lyrics. You shouldn't feel shy about your music preferences, I personally love Black Gospel music its my absolute favorite christian music, so post away honey.

Binky Martin, shadow and I often enjoy dedicating a song to online friends too and not always romantic ones sometimes just friendship ones. Once in a while Jims brother Sir Evil and Bonnie will exchange posts through music too although there music preference is Heavy Metal but it can take up a page just like me and binky and this is a message board......so I hope you enjoy the message I am sending to you in this song.:cool:

That's really neat Binky , I wished I could have heard you sing it. I didn't grow up with any of these songs, but I remember once going to a black church when I was little and i liked the music and songs and everyone was real happy and shouting things out from the pews and ever since then I liked the gospel music.
