Ga. Boys Ages 8 and 9 Charged With Rape
2007-11-20 04:25:56
By SHANNON McCAFFREY Associated Press Writer
ACWORTH, Ga. (AP) — Three boys, ages 8 and 9, were being held Monday in a detention center on charges of kidnapping and raping an 11-year-old girl near a suburban apartment complex, officials said. The alleged attack happened Thursday and the girl's mother reported it to authorities Sunday, Acworth police Capt. Wayne Dennard said.
"The victim said they were playing outdoors and the girl was forced into a wooded area where she was sexually assaulted, where one of the boys raped her," Dennard told The Associated Press.
The three boys — an 8-year-old and two 9-year-olds — appeared in juvenile court Monday afternoon, dwarfed by the courtroom chairs and wearing navy blue jump suits and shackles. Their names were withheld because of their age.
Cobb County District Attorney Pat Head said the boys could not be charged with felony crimes because of their age but could be tried for alleged delinquent acts that could place them in a juvenile facility for up to five years.

Where are they learning this stuff? I'll readily admit, I don't recall even knowing about sex when I was that age. I surely didn't know what "rape" was.
Is this behavior a product of the internet?

Jimminee Christmas Almighty!
This has left me speechless. I am so clueless on this.... Either they were introduced to sex early via sexual abuse or as you mentioned, the internet.
I didn't even know that a child at 8 would even have the urges to have sex?
Gosh, this is so unbelievable, my jaw is still dropped.

Exactly. I don't remember any sexual urges until I was in my teens either, as glock mentioned.
This is a sign of the times, and of the moral decay of society. Maybe the board liberals can explain how the war on Christianity, morals and decency has abetted this occurrence of children raping children.

When I saw the headline, I thought it was going to be another story of overzealous school principal calling name-calling or accidental bumping rape, but, uh, the above picture explains my reaction.

parents. I suspect the Parents of these kids were not involved in ANYTHING more than keeping them physically alive and growing. They likely were allowed to watch things and participate with others of no developmental benefit. :-/

Possibly, though I'm leaning towards one or more of those kids being the victim of abuse. Either way, makes a lot more sense than trying to blame it on all of society.

The BOOB TUBE, X-Box, Rap music...shit the list is long!
Sad, sad, sad, sad, sad. I agree w/ d, it's definitely the parents, and I wouldn't be surprised if there was some form of abuse going on. Well, hell, the fact that these kids did this shows pretty clearly that they were abused, at least psychologically, somehow. You can blame TV or Internet, but this is a problem that started at home.
As for how these kids could have actually, biologically done this, and this might be TMI territory, but the article doesn't mention that the kids actually had sex with the girl. Maybe they used an object on her? An action which, I think, definitely points to family problems.

I think we'd all agree, if the kids learned this from TV or the Internet, that IS a sign of a parental problem. My kids know they have no right to privacy. It's my DUTY to monitor what's going into my kids' brains as best as I can.

They're probably ghetto kids, raised by MTV and hoochie mama music. So of course they'll view females as "bitches and hos."

you nailed it on the head! But wait there's more......................

The Parent's!
Shocking as it may seem Parent's need to realize they need to be having these discussions with their children at a much younger age then what they (the parent's) think is an appropriate age. Unfortunately what the parent may think is an appropriate age for that talk, when they try to have that talk, it's probably to late. The child knows more and has most likely done more then the parent would have ever imagined.
I recall a memory from my childhood it involved one of those little wooden statues and said something on it about being horny or something can't remember exactly what it said. I was 13, my grandfather made the comment unaware that I was listening, that I didn't even know what the word horny meant, but in reality I did. I was 13. My grandfather probably didn't know what the word meant till he was 17-20 years old. Case in point they are learning these things far younger then we would have ever imagined and if the parent does not step up and talk to their child, someone else will.

I am dumbfounded... i cant believe this. There are so many questions and absolutely no real answers. Did the kids actually know what they were doing? Why? i would like answers to this.

Is this behavior a product of the INTERNET? If parents aren't watching their kids real close on the INTERNET it's easy for them to find web sites that aren't meant for them.Google is the worst kid friendly search engine out there. I caught my 12 year old grandson googling tits ass and pussy all lead to porno sites. what do we expect when liberals don't care what SHIT is posted on the INTERNET?

Sounds like a normal 12 year old male using technology to me.
I'd have done the same, but Playboy was the big deal back then.

Well the case is still being investigated. I'd guess that before it's all said and done, the parents will be forced to take some of the blame and suffer some of the consequences.
Yes I agree with all, the parents have "allowed/enabled" this sort of behavior to develop in these kids.
