Okay, I'm an Elvis fan. Not one of those kooky ones, I haven't seen all his movies, I don't have all his albums, I do not own Elvis salt and pepper shakers, but I do like his music. I own a couple the compilation CDs, there is one performance I would like to own because of a spontaneous moment of humor involving a toupee, and when I was last in Memphis I did the Graceland tour just so I could say I had done it.
Now for the rant.
What the hell is up with thes Viagra commercials? You know the ones I mean, the "Viva Viagra" done to the tune of Viva Las Vegas. WHo at the Elvis corporation thought it would be a good idea to sell the song to teh Viagra people? While I have no doubt that were he alive E would happily let them use the song to promote their chemically induced boners, he isn't. He is dead and something of an icon. I know that the estate of Elvis doesn't need the money. Is there anyone on this board in Memphis? If so, would you please wander on down to the offices of Elvis Inc., find the person responsible for this act of musical blasphemy and kick them in the balls for me. Really hard. Make them double over in agony, turn white as a sheet, and break out in a cold sweat.
