PORTLAND, Ore. - The father of James Kim, a San Francisco man who died after his family became stranded on a remote southern Oregon road, is speaking out about the problems involved in the search for his son and his son's family.

Spencer Kim wrote a letter to The Washington Post that was printed Saturday stating that his son's death was a tragedy that could have been prevented. The father said he wanted to share some of the hard learned lessons in the hope of making it less likely others will suffer the same fate.

In his letter, Spencer Kim calls for the posting of clear signs warning against access to potentially hazardous logging and private roads. He also said Congress should change the law so credit and phone records can be immediately released to family in an emergency.

What about blaming his son for getting his AWD car stuck - on the road?

What about blaming his son for not staying with the car?

What about blaming Subaru for not including a winch built-into the chassis?

What about blaming the Cell Phone companies for not putting towers out in the middle of nowhere JUST in case?

(sigh)
