Every time I'm channel surfing and run across this woman talking, I have to stop and listen to her. She's incredibly intelligent, and has command of something like 20 different languages. I recommend anyone that's interested in the Bible to check her out. (She's also pretty hot, which doesn't hurt. :wink2:)

here is another one.....this guy teaches Bible at my daughter's high school....twenty years ago he was giving lectures at local churches and leading student tours of Israel......now he gives lectures all over the country and you have to get your kid on the waiting list when they enter 1st grade if you want them to go when they are seniors :)

I've watched this woman before. I think her father is quite noted for the same skills. She can really make a presentation but if she grabs a microphone and starts to sing I advise that you quickly surf to another channel untiil she's done. :laugh2:

I found her the same way you did--channel surfing. She's just amazing to watch but not knowing a damn thing about those ancient languages, I have no idea if she's making any sense or not. A good show but trust me on the singing. :laugh2:

At first I wasn't sure what she was talking about. I was watching her because she had such pretty hair and was nice looking. Then I was intrigued by what she was talking about and couldn't stop listening. It's different than listening to someone preach a sermon, and she gets so into it. Now I watch her whenever I see her on.

And I'm curious about her singing now too. If it's that bad, I wonder why no one has told her she should maybe just refrain from that. :slap:

Actually heard her sing on her preaching show.

Her voice isn't that bad.

By the way, her father Dr. Gene Scott, was once hooked up with Jim Baker or at least preached on the PTL television network owned by Baker.

He ended up starting his own telecast and possibly television station and seemed to be on 24 hours a day. I often wondered how the guy kept going. Maybe "uppers" or something.

Anyway, I believe his doctrine was called, "British Israelism". It was not too straight with biblical scripture.

His daughter, I've heard on TV a couple times, and have yet to find anything unscriptural in her teaching. I just haven't heard her enough.

Actually Christian Research Instititute would be a good resource to find out about Miss Scott. I don't know if bible teacher, Miss Scott follows her dad's British Israelism doctrine or not.

I haven't heard her but I sent the link to someone. They wondered if she was the one that was a former porn star. (how would I know?) I said probably not since papa was a preacher, as well.

Does anyone know who this other woman is?

Dr. Scott was a very good linguist. I was fascinated by his translations from hebrew to english.

I have actually heard this woman in person. She spoke at Cal once. Incredibly intelligent, but a bit overbearing at times. She does have good points.
Dr. Gene, on the other hand, is one of the biggest religious kooks of all time. We went to his home church in Cleveland once, just to look. They gave us a free CD of a couple of his talks.
It impressed us greatly. We spent a large part of our next drive singing "Kill a Piss Ant For Jesus".

That was a very "eye opening" web link into Mrs. Scott's background.

Has this story been validated or corroborated, by any news services?

I had no idea that she was his "Mrs.", and if the story is valid, that she is running a "prosperity" church, geared to her church's properity.

Again, it would be good to have some other links that corroborate this story.

I realize that God forgives sins, and many a gross sinner has repented and gone on to be a valid messenger/teacher of the bible, but that article leaves her "suspect" until I check into her current bio more, and anything current on her church too.

I did some research too, and every place I looked it was the same story. She used to be a porn star. But she was smart, and has a court order for all her sex flicks to be under lock and key never to be marketed and sold. Doesn't get her off the hook. It does make me wonder though, when did she find the time to study all those languages she supposed to know? I mean she looks young. But I've watched her, and she does rip through two or three different languages at a time. I was impressed. Hell I'm still impressed. If she's sincerely turned her life over to God and preaching and given up the porn star days, more power to her. I still think she's hot, and I'll continue to listen to her when I see her on.

I never feel warm-and-fuzzy when pastors call themselves "Pastor so-and-so."

Seems like she uses "Pastor" as one would use "Ms." etc. Our pastor is "Pastor Art" but I NEVER hear him refer to himself as such.

She wears those long frock type coats, so even trying to imagine her naked is hard. It is clear she isn't FAT however, and she's got nice LIPS, and hair. She's hot, period. LA isn't too far from me. I could road trip there easy. Maybe on the hog.

Then again... as much as I hate LA... it isn't worth it.

This is such a powerful statement.

First it tells us that our past cannot elude us. What we've done or do & say has its influences....always.
But it also tells of the redeeming power of Christ. If she is sincere, if she can stand before the multitudes, under such scrutiny, and show the world what she was and what she now is; if Christ can change her, He can do it for you, as well. It takes a very brave woman.

But I was just making an observation about people's pasts. It cannot be changed; but it does follow us. It affects those we come in contact with both past, present & future.
It is wise to choose & to teach our children to choose wisely what we do & say.

Apparently she began a porn production company called "Barbie Bridges Enterprises." :dunno: There's not much on the Internet about her. Well... I'll have to admit, my "obsession" with her, as you put it, is somewhat feigned. I have no real desire to meet her. I live in the real world, where driving to LA to hear her preach and somehow try and arrange to meet her is something that is never going to happen. I don't believe we'd ever get along anyway. I'm a Christian, but not a fanatic. We live in two completely different worlds.

I'm more or less simply amazed at what she used to be, and the transformation to what she is now.
