Whether actual hardware was swapped after this weekends outage is up for dispute, but my host is taking proactive methods to ensure this site is on a good server. I have no choice but to work with them with any enhancements they choose to make. I just received the following email:
Dear James,
We are contacting you to inform you about some
upcoming scheduled maintenance. "The SDX server
Ewok.nocdirect.com (http://ewok.nocdirect.com/) your account is hosted on had
some problems yesterday and in the last week. Our
techs looked into this and found some hardware
issues and suggested to move the hard drives of
this server to completely new hardware to isolate
any further hardware issues. This will start at 3
p.m. EST that is after two hours from now. Total
downtime for this would be 45 minutes to one hour.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience which
may be caused due to this. If you have any
questions, please feel free to open a support
ticketAt least we know about the downtime in advance and won't be left shaking our heads wondering why the site won't load. Hopefully, if all goes as scheduled, we will be back rolling by 4pm EST.
I will keep everyone updated afterwards as to how it went and what was completed.
Although out of my control for now, you have my sincerest apologies for the amount of issues as of late.
-Jim
