I'm thinking too little too late. Conservatives already have multiple outlets for their voices.

Actually FOX seems to utilize the mix I used to appreciate in news sources that I once used a lot: Chicago Tribune, most news magazines back when, etc.

'News articles were 'who, what, when, where, and how.' Bias of reporter, along with bad grammar addressed by experienced editors. Opinion pages were letters to editors and editorials. Both open forums for opinion on events, people, and politicians, (who aren't real people.) LOL! There were 'entertainment' sections that were really good-Chicago Tribune's Sunday Magazine, same with NYTimes or just funny pages and such.

FOX pretty much does the same mix-most of their 'entertainment' are conservative perspective commentary. Not much 'fair and balanced' with exception, imo, of The Five to a small degree; and Cavuto to larger degree.

Their news programs are much more fair-Martha, Bret.

I can't stand Fox & Friends, but do like Hemmer and Perino; Harris.

They didn't hire O'Reilly off waivers when they had the chanceI got tired of O'Reilly long before he was one. Too smarmy for me. Got to where anything newsworthy/constructive he had to say got lost somewhere behind is ego. Megyn Kelly has turned into a Trump cheerleader.

I watch most of the shows for entertainment and opinions more than actual news. I try to dig up the latter from as many places as I can. Some lean left, some right. Have to sift for facts and common denominators between sources. Shouldn't be like that but it is.

I'd say it has been in the past. But much of what we consider "news" nowadays is talking heads which are by definition biased. There's a difference between reporters and opinion.

Nope. News always reflects the narratives of the owners. The idea is to present the facts in a way that leads to a conclusion the "paper" wishes the reader consider "the only logical one".

Broadsides railing against King's George's taxes and whatnot were pure propaganda. Government generally controlled media's narrative until Nixon decided to go to war with it. He paid for that. I don't recall when it got so political to the point that it controls the narrative.

I don't think anybody is making that argument. Anything that is counter to tribalistic news outlets is positive IMO.

I never would have believed the MSM could get as bad as it has without seeing it.

Understandable but i think cnn ratings would have turned around if they'd snatched him up. Now he's on this new medium.

Gingrich is my dad's buddy. For real. Went to school together in GA WAY back when and still stay in touch. :)

CNN's ratings would improve if it would stop hiring, condoning and protecting liars.

That's sad. Like I said, most of opinion stuff on FOX is too over the top for me. Perino/Hemmer/Harris I can handle. Same with The Five, which has at least one semi-normal left of center.

The cheerleading gets old. Ford Jr seems like a decent guy. I like some of roves insights even if i don't agree with him on everything.
