My question is, does it matter? I imagine those whose votes are swayed by corporate/celebrity endorsements shouldn't be voting. Not about Rights. It's about competency.

Nope. It IS an acknowledgement that what they've been doing hasn't worked.

I'm going with trend. But I don't put the start with the teamsters. Not endorsing isn't completely out of character for them IMO.
