Wow! Lizzo just said "If Kamala wins the entire country will be like Detroit."
Probably accurate. Call me living in a cave. I recognize the name and know she is aa pop media personality and nothing else. Hopefully a bunch of her drone-bot followers will vote to be "just like Lizzo":smoke:
I still haven't softened on Trump, but as Harris opens her mouth more and more, the bigger danger to this country she reveals herself to be.

That has been my motivation since 2020; dem behaviors on office and out. The danger truly is existential. They really are against democracy and freedom.

The bigger, long-term concern to me is this shouldn't even be a contest. That half the people in this country, to include Cheney and her gale of "Repulican't's", is mind boggling. No one with a brain and the ability to use it should be supporting Harris. The Cheney bunch makes the most sense of all of them because their stance is just petty vindictiveness. Understandable, not okay.
The entire Dem party is a threat to democracy. Harris is just the idiot on the poster that represents who and what they truly are.

One could argue the first, if not biggest mistake was Obama. Or GOP primary winner 2015. If not for either, no Joe.

Could say none of the above would have happened but for a lack of leadership from the GOP from top to bottom. There still isn't any.
Assume Trump wins and the Republican at least take the Senate. Long shot IMO the House as well. THEN what? Back to the in-house infighting that accomplished little from 2016-2018. The Senate rammed through judiciary choices because it didn't need the House, and most everything else was EOs from the executive. Round and round we go:rolleyes:
Trump's term is one, no matter what. If the House doesn't flip this time around, it most like will again after 2 more years of Republicans accomplishing nothing. Looking at the cast of players, I don't see where it gets better. We have a House majority that's only recent accomplishments have been Johnson enlisting Dems, compromising more than he, or the right, wanted.
There wouldn't be a Trump in 2016 but for a party without a head.

Johnson wouldn't have the problems without the nutter squad on the far right. He has no choice but to get something done with dems

Agree. Not even sure why he took the job. It's only worked for Dems lately. The nutter squad on the right of which you speak is the same nutter squad on the right of which I speak. However, their behavior reflects on the entire party. It appears whoever is supporting them on the right doesn't think so.
I shudder to think there's a whole district full of people that support MTG and her fringe lunacy. Gaetz is just a POS as a person and whatever he's there for, it isn't serving the people. The one thing those far-right wingnuts have in common is each think it's all about them individually. None recognize they are supposed to represent the people and the party even when it's in their title:rolleyes:
Fact remains, they are what they are and they are here.

Kamala's Campaign Pitch: Make America DetroitDavid Strom 10:00 AM | October 21, 2024

Who says Kamala Harris isn't a messaging genius?
If you want to win over swing voters, there can't be a better message than to recruit Lizzo, of all people, to warn us all that if Kamala Harris wins America will look like Detroit.
That, my friends, is a winning message.
Detroit: come for the crime and corruption, stay for the cheap housing:
I have news for Lizzo: Detroit's population is 1/3rd of what it was in 1950 because Detroit became a Third-World city under the leadership of Democrats.
Detroit's suburbs are actually thriving, so it isn't because the REGION has declined. It's because the leadership is corrupt and incompetent. And, not coincidentally, all Democrats.
Lizzo, whom I have no particular problem with as she is just a standard-issue liberal celebrity with the politics of the privileged, is a perfect avatar of the modern Democratic Party. She visits places like Detroit to tell the proles what the establishment wants them to hear and then gets on her private jet to go someplace more pleasant.
Lizzo, needless to say, is not just like you. She has been a marketing genius, somehow combining undeniable talent with repulsive stunts and abusiveness to her employees to become an international phenom. She did so by being very...different.
It says a lot about how out of touch Kamala Harris' campaign was that she thought that Tim Walz would appeal to the normies and that Lizzo promising that Kamala would make America Detroit would help her campaign.
America is afraid to become Detroit. Democrats have turned a once-thriving city into a rotting hulk, and we are to believe it is a paradise, just like Cuba.
At the same rally Harris trotted out Randi Weingarten, who famously told the CDC to keep schools closed during COVID. The results are what you would expect: unions got richer, and children were harmed.
Kamala Harris isn't running a campaign of JOY! It's nonstop anger, nonstop threats, and promises to remake America into a hellscape where Lizzo and Randi Weingarten are free to run our lives while they live in luxury.
Is it any wonder that Harris' campaign is imploding? A San Francisco liberal understands Middle America as well as you would expect.
Unfortunately, a vast swathe of America finds this vision of America attractive. Perhaps enough to carry Kamala Harris across the finish line.
That could happen if ordinary Americans don't swamp the polls. Democrats run most institutions, are engaged in a propaganda campaign unseen outside China or North Korea, and are spending billions to put Harris in office.
We have Trump.
I think Trump might be enough, all things considered. But we should give him a hand unless an American future that looks like Detroit seems attractive to you.
