Israel's prime minister has made a direct appeal to urge the Lebanese people to throw out Hezbollah and avoid "destruction and suffering like we see in Gaza".

Just a quick Google result:

Hezbollah's support within Lebanon is limited, especially after being blamed for the 2020 Beirut port explosion and the obstruction of accountability efforts. According to a 2024 Arab Barometer survey, 55 percent of Lebanese have "no trust at all" in the group.

Is Hezbollah part of Lebanese army?
Hezbollah, a Lebanese Shia Islamist political party and militant group, has an exceptionally strong military wing, thought to be stronger than the Lebanese Army and equivalent to the armed strength of a medium-sized army.

Hezbollah is a much larger threat than Hamas.

Yes, just thinking about not alienating any moderates who are anti-Hezbollah if not necessarily pro-Israel.

Yes, just thinking about not alienating any moderates who are anti-Hezbollah if not necessarily pro-Israel.Not sure what the solution is. Netanyahu is a hard-liner of which there are many. Forst instinct is he is the problem, but really, Hezollah and Hamas are the problem, and their sugar daddy, Iran.

Be that as it may, if nothing else, Israel is getting the Israel/Jew haters to come out of the closet and line up. I keep wondering where all this daily, vocal dissent is regarding Russia. And China.

Have to assume at this point the plan is to return to its buffer zones it gave up "in the name of peace and whatnot:rolleyes:, 20 years ago.

I think part is don't piss off those* who don't hate you while taking out those who they* don't like. I think very few people outside of the zealots in Iran are going to protest very much if you keep decapitating Hezbollah.

*"moderates"

Israel has historically, (granted a relatively short history), been willing to include those whom do not like Jews/Israel into the country and even sharing of their successes. What happened with the Palestinians is basically the situation Biden and Harris have now created in the US, too many of those allowed in are now trying to destroy the country and people.

How to sift out those that want a better life from those who want to destroy those they hate?

The Israel Police and the Shin Bet security service recently thwarted a plot by five Arab Israeli citizens to carry out a car-bombing attack at Tel Aviv’s Azrieli Mall under the banner of the Islamic State terror group, according to a joint statement Thursday.

The five residents of Taybeh in central Israel formed a terror cell allied to ISIS, the fanatical terror group that originated in Iraq and Syria.

The five were arrested after a month-long clandestine investigation in collaboration with the Lahav 433 serious crime unit and were set to face charges in the coming days. The cell’s leaders were named as Mahmoud Azam and Ibrahim Sheik Yousef.

They recruited three others — Sajed Masarwa, Abdullah Baransi and Abdel Kareem Baransi.

Police and the Shin Bet said that the five had studied footage of terror attacks in Syria and discussed the amount of explosives needed to bring down Tel Aviv’s iconic Azrieli towers.

Azam and Yousef were in contact with foreign ISIS agents and planned to travel abroad to meet with operatives from the terror group, the statement added, noting that the plan was uncovered with the help of “precise and effective intelligence operations,” and had been halted in its preliminary stages.

The statement said that the arrests “prevented a major disaster and saved lives” and vowed that the police and Shin Bet would continue to “use all means at their disposal to thwart plots to harm the security of the State of Israel and its citizens.”

The announcement came after a Border Police officer was killed and at least 10 others wounded when an Arab Israeli terrorist opened fire in the Beersheba bus station on Sunday afternoon.

Then on Wednesday, an Arab Israeli man went on a stabbing spree in the central city of Hadera, wounding six people, one of whom succumbed to his injuries a day later.

The arrests also came days after the anniversary of Hamas’s October 7 mass onslaught against southern Israel, which was the worst terror attack in Israel’s history, and a week after a deadly shooting attack in Jaffa in which two Palestinian terrorists from Hebron opened fire at a light rail stop, killing seven people.

Read NY Times article yesterday where the US's version of the PLO rescinded its apology for its rhetoric back last Spring. In addition, it now advocates Palestine or whoever to use ANY means to get dem Jews:rolleyes:

My phone does not translate to my PC. Purposefully so. Neither do NYT articles translate without lines and lines of code. Should look it up if you have NYT. Alarming is an understatement. Far as I'm concerned, we should use their own tactics against them and bus their asses to Palestine. Let them get a good dose of disenfranchisement and Hamas up close and personal.
