Glad Someone in Govt is Saying something... even if it's Graham.
But I am a bit concerned that he's making threats to Amazon about it.

Pointing out the bias is GREAT.
But Govt officials making threats to "do something" about it isn't the response we need.
Frying pan to Fire.

Perhaps. On the other hand, it seems to take government doing something to get anyone to do anything. If nothing else, the playing field should be level. Too many people take what alexa and google, etc tell them at face value. We have a SERIOUS issue with people believing BS in this country and it is reflected in our elected officials.

With freedom comes the responsibility. Those who cannot handle the responsibility should have their "freedom" controlled. Isn't that how we allegedly handle most things?

"Those who cannot handle the responsibility should have their "freedom" controlled."

um, No they shouldn't.
Only if they break the law should they have their "freedom" controlled.
(constitutional laws BTW).
Not sure what freedoms you & kath think should be to taken away.

They aren't to control intelligent, contributing members of society who have common sense and decency and respect for others and generally don't run into the law in their day to day lives.

The other side of the coin is when allowing selfish idiots to do and say whatever they want to point of government actors and their facilitators )MSM/social media) have a detrimental effect on society and the Nation as a whole by lying to the people then a line needs to be drawn. And yes, it IS a case of the whole platoon suffers for the stupidity of the few. Again, isn't that why we have most laws and what they do?

It's not just the liars (or worse) to blame either. It's as much on the sheeple that unquestioningly believe them. Long-term, the weapon of official propaganda is every bit as dangerous to the nation and society as being nuked. At least the latter is a quick death as opposed to slow, lingering one we're experiencing because bad actors as being left unchecked.

Harris campaign's Google ads rewrite "news" headlines
https://www.axios.com/2024/08/13/harris-campaign-google-poltical-ads-news-publishers
The Harris campaign has been editing news headlines and descriptions within Google search ads that make it appear as if the Guardian, Reuters, CBS News and other major publishers are on her side, Axios has found.

Why it matters: It's a common practice in the commercial advertising world that doesn't violate Google's policies, but the ads mimic real news results from Search closely enough that they have news outlets caught off guard.
According to Google's ad transparency center, the Trump campaign isn't running these types of ads, but this technique has been used by campaigns before.
The ads say that they are sponsored, but it's not immediately clear that the text that accompanies real news links is written by the campaigns and not by the media publication itself....
