Seems appropriate.
I have to same about the guy that organized the mess, not accepting drone or utilizing the communications system from the locals. Hubris.
OTOH, looking a few rungs up for head rolling, the one that resigned may well be the one to be prosecuted.

The U.S. Secret Service has placed at least five agents on leave, including the head of the Pittsburgh field office, as a result of its investigation into last month's assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.
One agent on Trump's detail and three others in the Pittsburgh office were among those placed on leave, according to two federal law enforcement sources. It's unclear if all of these actions are disciplinary, since agents are routinely placed on leave during the course of investigations for various reasons, including mental health relief.
The Secret Service's internal affairs division is continuing to investigate how a 20-year-old gunman was able to fire eight rounds from a rooftop near where Trump was speaking in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, including one shot that grazed the Republican presidential nominee's ear.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi declined to confirm the agents were placed on leave, saying he would not comment on a personnel matter. But he said the service's "mission assurance review is progressing, and we are examining the processes, procedures and factors that led to this operational failure."
He added that the Secret Service "holds our personnel to the highest professional standards, and any identified and substantiated violations of policy will be investigated by the Office of Professional Responsibility for potential disciplinary action."
In terms of disciplinary measures, there are different levels corresponding with an official's alleged behavior. When Secret Service personnel are placed on administrative leave for disciplinary reasons, they still collect their paychecks and report to the office. They are typically assigned paperwork or other administrative duties instead of performing their normal day-to-day roles.
Beyond administrative leave, officials disciplined further may be granted a suspension or a suspension without pay, the latter of which typically also revokes their security clearance. That is not the case in this instance.
One man, Pennsylvania father and firefighter Corey Comperatore, was shot and killed at the Trump rally. Two other spectators were seriously injured. The gunman was killed by a Secret Service sniper who was positioned behind the stage where Trump was speaking.
Kimberly Cheatle, the director of the Secret Service at the time, faced blistering questions from members of Congress in the aftermath. She eventually resigned after declining to provide specifics about the investigation into the shooting and the service's response. She was replaced by Acting Director Ronald Rowe, who told senators he was "ashamed" of the assassination attempt and vowed to investigate the failures that allowed the gunman to open fire.
Congress is also investigating the incident and the Secret Service's handling of the rally. The House has assembled a task force on the assassination attempt, and senators have demanded swaths of records from federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. Members of relevant congressional committees — beginning with the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs — have been briefed on the actions by the U.S. Secret Service.
Trump held his first outdoor rally since the shooting this week, where he was surrounded by bulletproof glass as a security precaution.

If a Marine did that crap I'm betting he'd be facing anywhere from 3-5 charges at a court martial. You just don't walk off your post when in the field. This whole thing about this agent and breastfeeding is mind-boggling to me. WTF are you doing with a baby on post to begin with? I've seen some dumbass sh*t in my day, but this one is right up there:rolleyes:

Okay here's a quick theory. Biden and Harris get the real secret service and their opponents get the scraps: which means the hatred for trump in the country takes care of their problem. Quarter inch different and their problem would have been solved.

But would have created another problem for them. An assassinated opponent on their watch and also a better more disciplined candidate. :cough: Haley :cough:

Now say it again with dealing with current events in the process. "Hatred for Trump" doesn't even have to be a consideration, much as some would like to believe that.
The current, sitting President and VP and their families are going to get priority. It's protocol. Note that YOU have ZERO secret service agents. From a government POV, some peoples' lives are worth more than others. The former President is worth less when having to choose. Everybody can argue all day about wo they deem more important and it means nothing when it comes to government protocol.
What I am appalled by is the lack of professionalism in the Secret Service. It exists for ONE reason. Provide physical security for government VIPs. You have kids and all that other BS on your time. Specifically troublesome is that woman didn't have a baby on her post without others knowing. It's not like a baby is easy to hide or more importantly keep quiet. What happens in case of a REAL attack? Now, the person you are supposed to be willing to take a bullet for is endangered and so is your brand new kid. That's not thinking. At all. A Marine displaying that kind of judgement on one of my posts would be relieved until such time as she, the Skipper and I could unfuck her malfunction. Easiest fix in the Marines however is, when I was in, there were no women on the line.
Pregnant WM's and for 6 months after giving birth were on light, administrative duty.
Yeah, I'm on a rant, but see the point and the simple fix? You can't expect more from someone than they are capable of giving. Post-partum women are in ZERO physical shape to be bodyguarding anything BUT a baby:rolleyes:
This problem goes up the chain. Somebody put her on that post. There's another person with a judgement issue that needs to be unfucked. While some may buy off on conspiracy theories, I'm way more convinced this is institutional incompetence at all levels of leadership that culminated in a person on post with a breastfeeding baby.
So 6 agents got put on leave? The head honcho resigned. That takes care of the immediate problem. It isn't going to change if the entire system isn't addressed. I don't see that happening. They've given the public its pound of flesh. Soon as this blows over, tomorrow's another day, business as usual.

I shouldn't have said scraps. My problem isn't that trump got less than Biden and Harris. It's that it was soooooo lacking. I get there is a discrepancy but the discrepancy was 1000 miles instead of a foot.

Hatred for trump means people "out there".The VERY last thing the Dems want right now is an assassinated martyr on their hands. Might as well let Vance start decorating the WH early.
Here's a conspiracy for you: the right assassinates Trump because it's almost a sure bet to the Presidency. Especially if they can make it look like the Dems had a hand in it.

I don't find the right as diabolical as the left. Not quite anyway. Maybe i should reassess

Perhaps this is why you find the left to be less trustworthy.

The 84-year-old Pelosi’s choice of words to describe herself in the interview is going viral: “We’re very discreet reptilian, cold blooded.”

You could be right though. The institutional right has shown little comprehension in how to win even playing by the above board rules, much less nefarious, under the table stuff. It isn't like the Dems have been using the same strategy and tactics since the 80s:rolleyes:
