Two biggest reasons that stand out from various sources: Trump and throwing out Roe.

I suspect the alt-right being all giddy over Trump thinking he's leading doesn't account for actual voters at polls, or not. One can blame Trump and his followers and/or the "on their program" Republicans all they want. IMO this falls on the lack of party leadership and/or direction of the party.

Of course the answer is obvious. It was obvious in the Midterms as well. Been obvious since he cost GA Senate seats in 2020. The malignant narcissist has his sheeple and they are destroying/have destroyed the GOP. Not sure if it can be fixed at this point.

She is always right, so I just keep sorta quiet. Truth is, as the years have gone by, she pretty much concedes that the current system needs to be gone. She really wouldn't have a problem with a Trump like permanent leader. Somehow the idea that someone she doesn't like may come to power?....
