Not here :( We've at least dropped to the mid-90s (as of 3 days ago).

No 90s yet. It's nearly October. When teaching and having morning duty, I remember being cold. By Nov. I'd bring down jacket, which I had to carry on way home-when it would be in 70s or 80s. Mornings though could be 40s or 50s.

I remember that about the desert. 110+ during the day and 60s at night. doesn't absorb heat. Not here. It's "cooled off" here because it's actually dropping into the high 70s in the wee hours. Been lucky this summer if it dropped out of the 90s at night.

RE: your thread on moving. One thing I definitely miss is 4 season living here.

The day/night difference was pronounced as you describe in LA; not so much here in AZ-neither Sedona nor Valley, except winter. It cools off very little at night now, certainly not in summer!

I was in the hi desert and on the coast in CA. Sand reflects heat in the former, and sea breeze at night on the coast. 10 miles inland that sea breeze doesn't factor and the heat remained.

The desert was cold at night at 1100 ft elevation :)

I only was in LA area for the month of July. As you say, less than 5 miles from beach. I froze at night, was not expecting that at all. Thus when I moved here, I expected cooler nights. WRONG!
