View Full Version : This Seems Very Likely Regarding China

Very concerning. Reminds me of a series of novels I read awhile ago on WWIII. Starting novel was on a 'red squad' of specialists in a variety of fields called together by CIA, NSA, DNI, etc., to war game they were China and how would they hit the US and retain control. Before too long of course, former military man, now industrial leader, realizes they've all come to this island by Chinese deception, they eventually try to undo the information they've given, but it's too late...

China's military targets American troops, veterans for exploitation campaign, general saysGen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. wrote in a memo to Air Force personnel that service members should safeguard national security information from China

China is targeting current and former U.S. service members as part of an exploitation campaign to "fill gaps" in its military capabilities, a top U.S. general says.
The complex effort was detailed in an Air Force memo authored by Gen. Charles Q. Brown Jr. and distributed on Friday, an Air Force official confirmed to Fox News. The Chinese military is pushing international firms that do business with the PRC to target and recruit "U.S. and NATO-trained military talent across specialties and career fields."
"By essentially training the trainer, many of those who accept contracts with these foreign companies are eroding our national security, putting the very safety of their fellow servicemembers and the country at risk," Brown wrote in the memo, which was first reported by the Washington Post. He encouraged service members to safeguard "our national defense information" even after they leave the armed forces.
FBI TRACKS OVER 100 INCIDENTS OF CHINESE NATIONALS POSING AS TOURISTS TO BREACH US MILITARY SITES:REPORT
General Charles Brown Jr.
WASHINGTON - JULY 11:
A special agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigation told the Washington Post that China has attempted to exploit Americans through job offers that can appear innocuous. U.S. pilots and other veterans with a wealth of expertise may be approached directly at defense industry events and offered roles where their expertise is needed. The official cited former aerospace ground equipment maintainers and landing-signals officers as examples — jobs which require specialized knowledge to handle equipment and guide pilots and their aircraft to safety, the report said.
But behind these job offers are private companies that are either controlled by the Chinese government or contract with the Chinese Communist Party, according to officials. These entities seek consultants, advisers and trainers who will share their knowledge on the job and unknowingly feed it directly to the Chinese military.
U.S. officials are concerned that service members may be hesitant to leave their jobs even after they discover the connection to China.
"We want to make sure that people understand: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is," the official told the Washington Post. They called the exploitation campaign "insidious."
The warning comes days after the FBI and Department of Defense reportedly tracked more than 100 incidents of Chinese nationals posing as tourists to attempt to breach U.S. military bases and other federal sites.
Those responsible, dubbed "gate crashers," range from Chinese nationals detected crossing into a U.S. missile range in New Mexico, to scuba divers caught swimming in murky waters near a U.S. government rocket launch site in Florida, several U.S. officials recently told The Wall Street Journal. The growing trend represents a potential espionage threat, as authorities believe the Chinese government in some cases is compelling nationals into service in order to test out and report back about security practices at the installations.
The FBI has said China poses "the greatest long-term counterintelligence threat to our nation's information and intellectual property."
"The Chinese government is engaged in a broad, diverse campaign of theft and malign influence without regard to laws or international norms that the FBI will not tolerate," an FBI spokesperson told Fox News Digital. "In coordination with our defense and intelligence community partners, along with state and local law enforcement, the FBI is committed to protecting our national security and defense information from the Chinese government's actions and ultimately, their efforts to undermine our democracy and those who defend it."
Fox News' Danielle Wallace contributed to this report.

Gen. Charles Brown Jr., who leads the Air Force and who could be the next leader of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, put out a warning Friday that China is targeting US troops. The letter sent to all Air Force personnel and warns that China is looking to recruit people with knowledge of US operations.
It marks the Pentagon’s most direct attempt yet to call out and counter what U.S. officials characterized as an aggressive ploy by Beijing to leverage international firms that hire Americans to teach advanced military skills and tactics…
“By essentially training the trainer, many of those who accept contracts with these foreign companies are eroding our national security, putting the very safety of their fellow servicemembers and the country at risk,” Brown wrote, appealing to the recipients’ sense of responsibility, even after leaving the armed forces, to protect “our national defense information.”
China has really been working on this particular form of spying for years. What is being described here is not so different from the approach China takes with US academics who have been offered positions at Chinese universities which pay extremely well (the Thousand Talents program). In exchange the professors agree to teach in China on some area of expertise that China can’t reach on its own. Instead of stealing the information, China has simply decided to pay for it.
A special agent with the Air Force Office of Special Investigation, who like some others interviewed for this report spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss a sensitive national security matter, said that attempts by China’s military to exploit Americans have included marketing job openings to them that initially appear innocuous and approaching them directly at defense industry events…
The offers come from a mix of privately owned companies and those backed by the Chinese government, and are contracted by the Chinese government, officials said. The solicitations often include language that sounds customary in the defense sector, with references to consulting, advising or training.
It’s not just the US that is being targeted in this way. Last year I wrote about retired British Air Force pilots who were being recruited to train the Chinese in how to defeat western warplanes.
China has recruited dozens of former British military pilots to teach the Chinese armed forces how to defeat western warplanes and helicopters in a “threat to UK interests”, officials have revealed.
One official said some 30 mainly ex-fast jet but also some helicopter pilots – lured by annual salaries of around £240,000 – are currently in China training pilots for the People’s Liberation Army, in what a defence analyst described as a stunning breach of security.
A retired senior Royal Air Force officer said: “Wow… that is appalling. What were they thinking?”
I can tell you exactly what they were thinking. They were thinking that $300k a year is a damn good salary. Simply put, they sold out.
The letter released today comes just days after reports circulated about Chinese nationals working as “gate-crashers,” i.e. trying to gain access to US military bases. In some cases these infiltrators have actually tried to push past guards. When they are stopped, they offer a scripted reply claiming to be tourists who have somehow gotten lost.
As Ed noted when he wrote about it, some version of this practice has been going on for years. Previously the gate-crashers often consisted of Chinese “diplomats” who hid behind their diplomatic credentials when caught. Now China has shifted to using people who can’t be directly tied to the Chinese government. Many of them won’t get through but by sending a lot of them, some will succeed.
Looking at the overall pattern we also can’t forget about the Chinese spy balloon that drifted over US bases back in February. China is doing everything it can to beg borrow and steal information on the US military. It makes you wonder if this is just China’s usual penchant for stealing information so it can copy what works without doing the work themselves or if Xi Jinping really thinks he is preparing for a military conflict with the US. That is what Xi himself says he is doing.
Chinese leader Xi Jinping says he is preparing for war. At the annual meeting of China’s parliament and its top political advisory body in March, Xi wove the theme of war readiness through four separate speeches, in one instance telling his generals to “dare to fight.” His government also announced a 7.2 percent increase in China’s defense budget, which has doubled over the last decade, as well as plans to make the country less dependent on foreign grain imports.
If he acts like he’s preparing for war and he says that he’s preparing for war, maybe we should believe him.

Retired or not, I consider it treason - aiding and betting the enemy. Anyone that wants can argue semantics all day long, but China is the enemy as far as I'm concerned.
Teaching them to kill the people that trained you and broke bread with you is unconscionable.
While Congress is piddling around playing pocket pool with the budget, they should address this with some legislation that has punitive conswquences.
You couldn't pay me enough to teach those f*cks to shoot unless I could use them as the targets.

That's a problem. It isn't about people like me, retired military and has hated the PRC government since as far back as I can remember. It's about the one-hitch and done folk, trained in just about everything that goes boom or supports it, looking for a payday and feeling no allegiance to the US.

It's not just military, far from it. It's business people and academics. Department heads of electric companies for instance; even data storage and such. Chemists.
How to invade with superior numbers, but lesser technology? How to lower the technology advantages on US soil? Those types of questions have answers beyond the military/political.

If and when they finally march in, it will be to open arms and open doors.
The OP limited the discussion to military threat. We've already discussed time to time China's threat to our society, infrastructure especially through academics.
I would suggest they do however have plans for ejecting us from the far Pacific by whatever means they have to. Knowledge of our weapons systems and doctrine would make that easier.

Long plan already done decades ago. With good economy, they were on track for earlier plan. With bad economy that is worsening, they may feel compelled to even earlier?

I didn't read it as only military threat, but also ex-military in now civilian positions that the employees are unaware are actually Chinese or Chinese indebted. This is also how CCP has been controlling countries from Asia, to Africa, to South and Central America.

Not necessarily the commie plan of quiet infiltration, subliminal reeducation and eventually assimilation.
