Someone to 'care' for them, not to mention sex, the combination of which leads to their living longer. Women on the other hand, live longer when unmarried. Sure women may gain a higher social position with marriage, but that is only of importance when married and 'competing.' If a woman is educated and single, there's little they cannot provide for themselves, that a husband might provide. Well, except love, acceptance, a role model for their children.

Kids are usually the factor that leads women to marry, they need the stability marriage brings. They are the embodiment of hope for the future. Now not everyone should be a parent, that's all too evident in any newspaper today. On the other hand, overpopulation in the West is not a problem, as I pointed out very early on.

As for going 'dutch' on dates. Reasonable at first, but if you are looking to marry or have a relationship worth Valentine's Day, you need to step up to the male role. While women are certainly now more able to provide help financially, the roles one plays in the long term schema of things, set the male up to prove his ability, financial is only one of them, probably the most tangible.

Marriage, I dont believe i need to be married to have a great relationship. Marriage for some people is not taken seriously, treated like a fairy tale. Men and women sometimes dont talk about what they expect from it, and what happens if it doesnt work out
