SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (ABC4) – A Utah plastic surgeon, his neighbor, and two others are facing charges after allegedly giving people fake vaccination cards and destroying government-provided COVID-19 vaccinations.
Dr. Michael Kirk Moore Jr., 58, and his neighbor, Kristin Jackson Andersen, 59, have been charged with conspiracy to defraud the United States, conspiracy to convert, sell, convey, and dispose of government property, conversion sale, conveyance, and disposal of government property and aiding and abetting.
The Plastic Institute of Utah Inc., along with office manager Kari Dee Burgoyne, 52, and receptionist Sandra Flores, 31, faces the same charges.
According to court documents, Moore and his co-defendants allegedly ran a scheme out of Plastic Surgery Institute of Utah Inc. to defraud the United States and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
The documents say Moore and Andersen were members of a private organization seeking to “liberate the medical profession from government and industry conflicts of interest.”
In the allegations, the four destroyed at least $28,000 worth of COVID-19 vaccinations and distributed at least 1,900 doses’ worth of fake completed vaccination record cards. The court documents allege the fake vaccination cards were sold either for direct cash payments of $50 per person per occurrence or required “donations to a specified charitable organization.”
The court documents estimate the fake vaccination cards have a total value of nearly $97,000.
Moore and his co-defendants also allegedly gave children saline shots at the request of their parents so the children would think they were receiving a COVID-19 vaccine...
a lot of way i could comment here.
I'll just say,
I wonder how many people who got the fake cards and vaccines died from covid.
I'm guessing Zero.
Doctors oath "do no harm".
mission accomplished.

mission accomplished.Giving fake vaccines to patients expecting vaccines is fraud. Giving fake vaccines to patients expecting vaccines that the US Government paid for is defrauding the US government. Handing out vaccine cards certifying those patients received a vaccine they did not is falsifying official US Government documents. The latter has a max penalty of $10k fine and 2 years in prison.
If the doctor wanted to "do no harm", he did not have to participate in the program. That isn't violating law. Fraud/defrauding the government is. Your and/or his opinions are irrelevant.
Could just be me, but I haven't seen nor heard of people lining up at plastic surgeons' offices to get immunized against viruses. As an aside, I personally don't even trust plastic surgeons to do plastic surgery correctly.

That's one way to look at it.
I can't say i agree 100% with the way it was done. I may be wrong but I don't think they lied to adults. the Parents ask them to lie to children.
But I would ask you this.
If you were a doctor and you were convinced that the shots were dangerous to people,
and your patients ask you to help them getting around the mandates what would you do?

And 6 months probation, and had her nursing license revoked. Yeah, scott free eh?
But I would ask you this.

Umm, not commit fraud?

Not commit fraud firstly. In that narrow scenario I'd give my opinion and say don't take the vaccine if you don't want the vaccine.

If you were a doctor and you were convinced that the shots were dangerous to people,

If I was a doctor and convinced the shots were dangerous to people I would not be administering them, especially as a plastic surgeon who has every excuse by trade not to. I would have no problem telling the patients what I thought of the vaccine, as I have not. I would further advise those people I would not participate in conspiring to defraud the US Government. That has only one ending unless you're a leftwingnut politician/elitist.
Seriously. You are willing to put your career and your and your family's livelihood and future on the line for someone who wants the paperwork but not the vaccine? I'm not. And trust this person nit to sing like a canary if caught?
Don't do the crime if you can't do the time. This crime is not worth the time.

I have to admit that I am becoming more and more skeptical with regard to mRNA therapies and their usage as vaccines. I have taken 3 doses and am not likely to take any more of the mRNA stuff. Having said that, nothing excuses fraud. If you do not want to give the vaccine, don't give the vaccine. If you don't want to take the vaccine, don't take the vaccine. Don't virtue signal and pretend, show your cards. If you change your mind be honest about it and move on.

Beyond being fraud, it's unnecessary. You could easily get a fake vaccine card by asking around where you see day laborers waiting for their transportation. Anyone who can get you a fake driver license and fake Social Security card can get you a fake vaccine card. That raises the question: Who would face a more severe penalty: Someone with ONLY a fake vaccine card or someone with all three fake documents? Doctors have no place in the fake vaccine card business when there's no shortage of counterfeiters.
That leads to another interesting question: If you buy a fake vaccine card, buying on which side of the border would carry the least legal risk?

Since you brought it up ... one of the first things I wondered was why go through the hassle of getting a plastic surgeon to commit fraud when, as you point out, there's no shortage of fake COVID immunization cards out there.
My best conspiracy theory is there is more going on here than meets the eye, as the surface info doesn't really make sense.
For some reason one person felt his/her card would be given more than surface scrutiny? But more than one? All going to the same plastic surgeon? Must has a lot of high profile, frequent-out-of-country travelers for clients that feel their cards are going to get more than cursory glance.
I'm going with B, there are some really dumbass people out there who can't think through something simple :)

Might not be any more than these sainted, altruistic doctors succumbing to greed.
