Putin has a single point, one I mentioned previously. The territory Ukraine has taken back is not part of the Donbas region, allegedly Putin's objective.
I had to laugh at his pointing out "only the professional army is fighting so far", not all Russia's forces. He calls that professional? I haven't seen his "professional" army accomplish much of a damned thing whenever faced with opposition.
I suspect he is consolidating and fortifying the territory he has wanted all along, and then some, and then will engage in a game of upping the stakes until Western Europe/NATO/the US try to strongarm Ukraine into negotiations.
I still cannot get over how all sides are treating this as if it was some game and not a war, complete with Putin dictating the rules and side deals. Those real, dead people are real dead.
