We're making promises that definitely affect the lives of others, that We, the People, have no idea whether or not our government is going to back its mouth.

And it does come back on us. These countries don't hate Biden. They hate the United States. That's us.

As far as "getting involved", we've been involved since we guaranteed Nationalist China's security in 1949. Nothing's changed except somewhere along the line we decided to make China our favorite f-ing trading partner, putting ourselves right in the middle.

Two thoughts: 1, if Xi was confident enough to make a move, he would have. The US STILL has the capability of kicking his ass right up around his ears. He and Putin are just gambling Biden won't.

2, He will strike back at us in some annoying little way that the US public won't buy as enough grounds to kick his ass. Like openly selling arms to Putin.

Whether or not anyone wants to hear it, and especially after Biden, the US is going to have to lay the smack down on someone, somewhere that matters, and put these third world despots in their place. Talk isn't going to do shit but buy them more time.

We can crush China economically. For now. Not sure how long we can keep it up the way Biden spends.

The old Radioman sailor in me wants to say, and hope...THAT WON'T HAPPEN. But when I think about how WUSSIFIED I personally have seen local members of the navy walking around. It scares the hell outta me!

Sort of covered it in another thread. We're in. We just don't know it. The entire Russia-Ukraine War plays to it. Russia and China know that as long as they don't "cross the line" with us, we'll just sit around blowing hot air.

Why do you think despite all his tough talk, Putin has been extremely careful to keep his crap contained inside the borders of Ukraine (and Belarus)? He's go our/NATO/the West's number. We aren't going to do shit as long as he stays within the box we told him to. I feel sorry for the Ukrainians who actually have hope because they are low man on the totem pole pawn in a game bigger than their freedom.

Putin is as confined by the rules of the "war" game as we are. He ahs to be real careful not to escalate. I suspect he's not dumb enough to believe that 3rd rate military of his could actually stand up to the US/NATO.
