Interesting read from a Crusader presenting an "objective" (according to him) account of the Fourth Crusade. The Pope even excommunicated the Crusaders :laugh:

This particular crusade began over the Great Schism and devolved into mercenary destruction of Constantinople -- the beginning of the end of the Byzantine Empire which eventually ushered in the Ottomans.

Can't say the Fourth Crusade was much of a great idea any way you look at it. Didn't work out for the Pope, nor Western civilization.
