Whether or not it is convenient to Putin, most Ukrainians and Russian are ALL Rus and the Rus originated in the Baltic states region, not Moscow. I don't think Putin cares about the Ukrainians nor his own people. Just slow and merciless invasion and doesn't care who dies. Just has a goal to achieve and death be damned.
