Dis-f*cking-qualified:rolleyes:

One of the most important decisions made leading up to the Civil War and a lawyer and judge doesn't recall the basis of the case?

Imagine every black person in the Senate doing the Dem dance if this was a conservative judge with the same answer. Not sure how many different labels there are for racist, but I'm sure all would be used.

I prefer "under-educated", regardless race, creed or color

Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, who President Biden (https://www.foxnews.com/category/person/joe-biden) nominated to the Supreme Court (https://www.foxnews.com/category/politics/judiciary/supreme-court) to become the first ever Black female justice, admitted Tuesday that she could not recall the basis for the infamous Dred Scott decision, which in 1857 said that a Black person whose ancestors had been slaves could not be an American citizen.

I couldn't believe it. One of maybe 5 cases first into in middle school and repeatedly in hs and beyond. Importance on civil war undeniable. A force of change right up there with Brown.

Dang ... according to CNN Don Lemmon she's an intellectual giant and knows more about the law than all the senators questioning her.

I even considered the fact you and I are history buffs, but it just doesn't wash as an excuse for not excusing her response. I expect a Supreme Court justice to understand game-changing Supreme Court rulings, interested in history or not.

The impact of Scott threw kerosene on the slave debate and divide between North and South. It may not have led directly to war 3 years later, but it certainly helped it along.

As an aside: was I a Black American, I think I would make at least a mental note of a Supreme Court ruling that stated I was property; therefore had no Rights and even freed was not eligible for them. Especially when the blurb I saw of her speaking touted the opportunity many "people" don't have, using her parents and grandparents as example.

It's going to take a lot for her to not be confirmed but it would be nice if the Republican senators could come up with lines of questioning that expose her judicial philosophy,* one that I'm sure is an expansive view of rights and governmental power. Graham asking her about her church habits goes nowhere.

While I understand, it seems they are wasting too much time to make their points of how unfair dems have treated perceived conservative judges in recent past, especially Kavanaugh. While I agree, whining is a waste of time, few are watching or care.

I'm pretty concerned about her lax sentencing in sexual abuse/pedophile cases. I would like to definitely hear more on THAT.

Agreed it would take a lot to disqualify her and any such move would be met with the screech of racism.

Graham I think is a no vote before the fact from stuff I have read. He proposed someone else who fit the racist, gender-biased criteria and was rejected.

Guess the kitchen was getting too hot for Dick the Dumbass. I guess there must be some point to even holding this hearing, but I'm not seeing it. The Dems want their black woman and they don't care about qualifications.

The Dems want their black woman...

Just utterly stupid of biden to say. It automatically calls into question her qualifications. Since that requirement turned out so well at Veep.

Biden's "first black woman" apparently doesn't know what a woman is. More likely she's being obtuse as all of her answers that I have seen have been. Basic, stock, noncommittal nothing.

Not like she's being treated like Brett Kavanaugh was by the Dems and still is by the leftwingnutjob MSM.
