Mock away!

I have ZERO sympathy for this guy. He refused to admit his guilt even though it was recorded in endless angles and his own 2 friends gave in as they knew the gig was up. Instead, Jussie decided to blame them and try to save his own ass. And then went on a lying spree. POS in my opinion.

Jussie Smollett Mercilessly Mocked Following Sentencing

Mass mockery came pouring in on convicted felon and hate crime hoaxer Jussie Smollett following Thursday’s court hearing, in which the disgraced actor was sentenced to 150 days in Cook County jail, 30 months of probation, as well ordered to pay restitution fees for faking a racist and homophobic hate crime against himself in January 2019.

Smollett had claimed he was physically attacked by two men wearing red hats who put a rope around his neck, poured bleach on him, and shouted racial and homophobic slurs at him, before eventually yelling, “This is MAGA country!” — referring to former President Donald Trump’s campaign slogan.

After the actor’s story — which sounded more like a scene from a television show in which the proverbial, cartoonish Republican character shows up — was found to be nothing more than a hoax, Judge James Linn sentenced Smollett on Thursday.

And social media users had a field day:

Turning Point USA Chief Creative Officer Benny Johnson shared a video clip from the 1999 film “Fight Club,” in which Smollett’s face is photoshopped onto actor Edward Norton, who is seen punching himself in the face.

Other Twitter users mocked Smollett’s reaction to his sentencing, in which the actor made a spectacle of himself, repeatedly shouting, “I am not suicidal, and I am innocent” as he was being hauled off to jail on Thursday.

Jussie Smollett Says ‘I Am Not Suicidal’ at Least 8 Times After Jail Sentence

Jussie Smollett repeatedly insisted he was innocent and “not suicidal” after he was sentenced Thursday to 150 days in jail for lying to police about a racist and homophobic attack that the former Empire actor orchestrated himself.

“I am not suicidal,” Smollett told Cook County Judge James Linn when asked if he had any questions about the 30 months of felony probation, including 150 days in the county jail, that were pronounced as his penalty for the hate crime hoax.

The actor, who wore a plain black mask throughout the nearly 5-hour-long hearing, removed it for his response and turned his head toward the court audience as he repeated himself and raised his voice: “I am not suicidal. I am NOT suicidal. I am innocent, and I am not suicidal.”

Smollett continued:

If I did this, then it means I stuck my fist in the fears of black Americans in this country for over 400 years and the fears of the LGBTQ community. Your honor, I respect you and I respect the jury, but I did not do this, and I am not suicidal. And if anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself, and you must all know that. I respect you, your honor. I respect your decision. Jail time [pause]. I am not suicidal.

https://johnkassnews.com/lady-justice-1-jussie-smollett-0/Kass nails it. IMO, given the damage he could have caused, the sentence was too light. He should be doing some real time.

Foxx should lose her license and her job.

I'll stop there. I doubt I am going to live long enough to compile a complete list of all Chicago politicians that need to be fired/incarcerated. :)

He needed a much harsher sentence - and Foxx should have been fired a long long time ago.

Did he really convince his family over time and have them this fully hoodwinked?

I mean, c'mon, there was video evidence, voice evidence, text evidence & 2 direct witnesses against him.

This was almost as close to an open and shut case as you can get.

But to reiterate, he lied to the police that night, he lied about the noose and the police instantly caught onto that one. When the 2 brothers were first found on video, then questioned as the only 2 in the area at that time - the more or less immediately came clean with what happened. They gave their stories to the police, and then the police found video of them in a taxi going to meet with Jussie. Then they found video of the 2 brothers purchasing the necessary tools. The brothers gave them all of the text information. Everything made 5,000% sense and completely aligned with the videos and everything else. --- But then Jussie just outright denied it all. With all of that, it was simply evidence that the brothers committed the crime. Never mind the texts, he blamed it, claimed it was about something else.

It was so so so so so so so obvious what had happened and yet he stood his ground and just denied everything until both his face and balls turned blue, and still holds that to this day.

Was willing to screw the brothers, his friends. Lied to the public, his best friends, political supporters & more. Just kept on looking for support and lying lying lying.

So all that was left after he went to the slammer was for his family to whine and cry and give one last hurrah about what he had fooled them about.

Jussie Smollett pictured in new mug shot as 150-day jail sentence begins

Jussie Smollett has spent his first night in Cook County Jail.

After being sentenced Thursday to 150 days in jail for staging a hate crime against himself, the former Empire actor, 39, was taken into custody immediately, screaming as he left the Chicago courtroom.

"I'm not suicidal, and I am innocent," he yelled before disappearing through the door. With a fist in the air, he added, "I could have said I was guilty a long time ago."

Jussie was then processed as an inmate, being assigned the booking number 20220310140. While still wearing the white dress shirt he had on in court, but sans tie and suit jacket, he took a new mug shot. In it, he was expressionless, but his head was held high.

It's unclear who exactly is controlling the actor and singer's social media while he's incarcerated, but the quote he gave while being taken off to jail has since been posted to his Instagram page.

"I am innocent and I am not suicidal," it read. The caption said, "OUR BROTHER IS INNOCENT AND WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING. #FreeJussie."

In a statement to Yahoo Entertainment, the Cook County Sheriff's Office clarified Smollett's "protective custody status" behind bars: "Mr. Smollett is not being held in solitary confinement. The use of solitary confinement was abolished at the Cook County Jail in 2016, and any claims that he is being held in this manner is false. Mr. Smollett is being housed in his own cell, which is monitored by security cameras in the cell and by an officer wearing a body worn camera who is stationed at the entrance of the cell to ensure that Mr. Smollett is under direct observation at all times. As with all detained persons, Mr. Smollett is entitled to have substantial time out of his cell in the common areas on the tier where he is housed, where he is able to use the telephone, watch television, and interact with staff. During such times out of cell, other detainees will not be present in the common areas. These protocols are routinely used for individuals ordered into protective custody who may potentially be at risk of harm due to the nature of their charges, their profession, or their noteworthy status. The safety and security of all detained individuals, including Mr. Smollett, is the Sheriff's Office’s highest priority."

Jussie was accompanied to court by several family members, including his 92-year-old grandma, who spoke on his behalf to the judge, slamming the media and asking to be sent to jail too if her grandson had to go.

Outside court, after Jussie was taken away, the Smollett siblings continued to support him in a series of impassioned comments.

His brother Jocqui Smollett said his brother is a "complete victim" in this. "He was attacked and he is now going to jail for being attacked."

He went on to say, "He's a survivor and he's been completely mistreated and this has to stop."

Jussie's sister Jazz Smollett said she believes her brother is innocent — and said that "should not be a controversial statement because it is the absolute truth. What should be controversial is the entire miscarriage of justice his whole ordeal has been."

Jojo Smollett took issue with Judge James B. Linn's comments about Jussie — whom he called "profoundly arrogant," "selfish" and a "narcissistic" — before sentencing him to 150 days in jail, 30 months of felony probation and ordering him to pay $120,106 of restitution to the city of Chicago and a $25,000 fine.

"[The judge] shamed my brother, he spoke about his arrogance," JoJo said. "He doesn't know the struggles my brother is encountering. He doesn't know anything that he's dealing with.... In 2022, we don't shame people like this. Alright? He basically called him a mental case."

Jussie is being housed in Division 8 of Cook County Jail. He can have visitors five days a week, there is a health services facility, two education departments, a commissary and a day room on each unit for eating and watching TV.

Thursday's sentencing took nearly six hours as the defense made a last-minute attempt to get a new trial. Jussie declined to speak out formally on his own behalf but then started yelling once the sentence was handed down.

Jussie was found guilty in December on five felony counts of disorderly conduct for making false reports stemming from staging a hate crime against himself in January 2019. The actor, who is Black and gay, claimed two men wearing ski masks poured bleach on him, put a noose around his neck and yelled racist and homophobic slurs on a freezing Chicago night when he was walking home at 2 a.m. The police investigation led to two brothers, Abimbola ("Bola") and Olabinjo ("Ola") Osundairo, acquaintances of the actor, who said Smollett paid them $3,500 to stage the attack.

Smollett was initially indicted in March 2019 on 16 counts of felony disorderly conduct. However, Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx's office dropped all charges weeks later, keeping his $10,000 bond and saying the community service he had completed was enough. However, a special prosecutor was appointed to look into the case in August 2019, leading to new charges against Jussie and, ultimately, his conviction on five of the six charges.

Oh brother, here we go. Why no such words prior? He's bitter now so gonna play the race card?

He got off so light that it's not even remotely funny. Assuming the brothers were convicted, would have been like aggravated assault, class 3 felony, only 3-7 years in the clink. But then add in the hate crime factor and the charges/sentencing would go up exponentially.

Instead, he got approximately 5 months in jail. And in a protected mode no less. Then a lame probation afterwards. And yet he's going to claim he was done in because he was black? Get the fu** outta here with that crap.

Jussie Smollett Believes He Got Jail Time For Conviction Because He’s Black

Sources close to convicted criminal Jussie Smollett have said that the actor believed he would be sent to jail after being convicted of staging a hate crime against himself, not because he committed the crime, but because of the color of his skin.

The sources told TMZ that prior to his sentencing, Smollett told his defense team that he felt he would receive harsher treatment than other defendants because of the color of his skin. The actor apparently told the source that he believes his sentencing was more evidence of systemic racism in the judicial system, according to TMZ.

Smollett later told his team that his prediction was correct, calling it “unfortunate” and “sad” that he was getting jail time for staging a hate crime against himself, TMZ continued.

Smollett was found guilty on five charges related to a false police report, in which he claimed he was the victim of a racist and homophobic hate crime. A judge sentenced him to 150 days in jail with 30 months probation, along with a $120,106 restitution and a $25,000 fine.

“You have another side of you that is profoundly arrogant and selfish and narcissistic. That’s the only thing that can be concluded,” the judge told Smollett at his sentencing. “The hypocrisy is just astounding. You really crave the attention.”

Jussie Smollett’s brother claims actor is in jail psych ward: ‘It’s an outrage’

Jussie Smollett is being held in the psych ward at a Chicago jail — and his brother is flipping out.

The 39-year-old “Empire” actor, who remains at the Cook County Jail after being sentenced to five months behind bars for staging a hate crime, was thrown into the ward because of a paperwork snafu, his brother claims.

“What’s very concerning is that there was a note attached to the paperwork today, and it said on the front of his jail cell … that he is at risk of self-harm,” Jocqui Smollett said on Instagram.

“I want to just make it clear to folks that he is in no way shape or form at risk to self-harm and he wants to let folks know that, that he is very stable, he is very strong, he is very healthy and ready to take on the challenge that ultimately has been put up against him,” the sibling said in the post Saturday.

“This is not right,” Jocqui Smollett said. “This is complete lack of justice. It’s angering, it’s an outrage.”
