Former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton accused former President Donald Trump and Fox News on Wednesday of “desperately spinning up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones.”

Clinton’s response comes as Fox News and conservatives have accused Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign of infiltrating and spying on Trump when he was a presidential candidate and as president. The outrage came in response to the latest allegations in the special counsel probe led by John Durham into the origins of the Department of Justice’s investigation into whether there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. However, the outrage is misplaced.

“Trump & Fox are desperately spinning up a fake scandal to distract from his real ones. So it’s a day that ends in Y. The more his misdeeds are exposed, the more they lie. For those interested in reality, here’s a good debunking of their latest nonsense,” tweeted Clinton, including a link to a Vanity Fair debunking the notion Clinton spied on Trump.

Joe Scarborough: Fox News is ‘Willfully Stupid’ Or ‘Deliberately Lying’ About Claim Hillary ‘Spied’ on Trump

The set of Morning Joe was particularly animated Tuesday morning, and not just because everyone was located in the same 30 Rock studio.

What raised the pique of co-host Joe Scarborough? Fox News and other “breathless” reports from conservative media about a recent John Durham motion filing that allegedly “found” the Hillary Clinton campaign had “infiltrated” Trump Tower” servers to develop a false narrative that the Trump campaign was tied to Russia.

Anyone who viewed a bit of Fox News on Monday saw a gusher of segments pegged to a FoxNews.com report from Brooke Singman that focused on a John Durham filing about a potential conflict of interest. The Fox News article presents a “Trump was spied on” narrative, devoid of hard evidence, but shifted the blame for the alleged “spying” from former President Barack Obama (as former President Donald Trump has alleged) to Hillary Clinton.

Singman’s report focuses on additional details included in the Durham filing, in particular, about former Clinton campaign lawyer Michael Sussmann, who was indicted last year for making a false statement to the FBI. The report’s initial headline misleadingly put the word “infiltrated” in quotes, as though it came from the Durham filing when that word was nowhere to be found in the Durham filing. That “infiltrated” framing was added by Kash Patel, a former Trump administration staffer and political ally of Devin Nunes.

So again, the Fox News article turbocharged the “Hillary spied on Trump” narrative that dominated right-wing media on Monday and will likely continue to do so all week. Just Tuesday morning, for example, Fox & Friends led with the story, and Steve Doocy even held up a New York Post cover that blared “Hillary the Spy” with a sub-hed adding “Outrage over the revelation that Clinton ‘paid for’ access to Trump PCs.”

The lefty press is giving Hillary Clinton a pass for Russiagate

Here’s a quick quiz: How do we know the new developments in special counsel John Durham’s investigation (https://nypost.com/2022/02/13/rep-jordan-durham-filing-shows-trump-was-right-about-spying/) are important?

Answer: Because the New York Times and Washington Post claim they aren’t important. (https://nypost.com/2022/02/14/washington-post-new-york-times-should-give-back-their-pulitzers-for-russia-trump-reporting/)

Big Media’s messengers for the Deep State are nothing if not consistent. For years they sold the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax as the greatest story ever told. And now that the entire story is being unmasked as a figment of Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambition, the same suspects insist there’s nothing to see here.

Move along, they say. And by the way, did you see what Donald Trump did today?

It is awfully late in the game to be surprised that our national press corps puts its political agenda ahead of the national interest, but the refusal to treat the Durham probe with the seriousness it deserves takes the dereliction to a new level. The refusal involves deliberate attempts to mislead the public.

Then again, the motive is obvious. Giving Durham his due would require the media to re-examine its role in perpetuating the dirtiest dirty trick in American political history.

They won’t do that re-examination now for the same reason they wouldn’t do it after Robert Mueller couldn’t find the Trump-Russia collusion the press and Democrats insisted was in plain sight. The truth of how they screwed up would destroy careers and ruin reputations.

Didn't really think she was going to confess? She got caught with an unsecure server in a closet from which she passed classified information and not one thing was done to her. She hemmed and hawed her way right out of life sentence for that alone.

As if it would ever happen, she would be proclaiming being victim to a right wing conspiracy as the cell door was slammed shut on her fat ass.
