Based on past studies long before covid, and now even more in the past few years - it has been shown that regular cloth masks do very very little to help or block the virus.
Based on science alone and the size of the vaccine, you need a mask that can block down to a certain micron level.
The size of covid is approximately .06 microns. The material in the regular cloth masks simply don't really block down to that level. You need N95 and above rated masks. Maybe wearing 2 or 3 cloth masks might help more and block closer, but then you can't breathe right.
Anyway, and now Biden is complaining about people wearing masks - and yet we all know they are not a solution.

Joe Biden Angry One Third of Americans Are Not Wearing Masks During Pandemic
President Joe Biden complained that Americans had stopped wearing masks during the coronavirus pandemic, promising to send better-fitting masks to Americans for free.
“About one-third of Americans report they don’t wear a mask at all,” Biden noted disappointedly.
The president spoke about masking during a speech on his video set across the street from the White House on the ongoing battle against the coronavirus.
“I think it’s part of your patriotic duty,” he said about mask-wearing although he admitted, “it’s not that comfortable” and “it’s a pain in the neck” to wear them.
During his speech, he lifted up his mask to demonstrate that masks should be worn tightly over the face and completely cover the nose.

Shades of Carter telling everyone to wear a sweater.
A sweater worked though, when heat was turned down to 68! Sorta worked, I wore layers of clothes til dad said, "Scew it!" Heat back to 75.

Yesterday, even the U.S. Supreme Court called the Mandates (for business) Unconstitutional.
From the very start of the CRISIS THE DEMS SHOULD NEVER LET GO TO WASTE.
All of the FAUCI, CDC, WHO, and Typical Democrat Fabricators who are ALL MAKING MILLIONS on the backs of AMERICAN Fears...(Too bad I never invested in FACE MASKS) that still have millions of Uneducated, Perpetually Afraid Americans hiding within their MASKS...even after people like FAUCI admitted MASKS DON'T WORK....before he changed his mind and said...MASKS DO WORK.
Anyone remember WHO SAID....."There's a Sucker Born Every Minute?"

Which are you?I'm the kind that follows the actual versus the junk science. If I pit something between myself and what I don't want to inhale, a piece of paper or even my hand is more effective than nothing.
There's a happy medium and some common sense, logic and scientific fact lost somewhere in the middle between ineffective and blind faith.
Wished I'd have invested in masks as well. Especially since every time Fauci and the Admin give the "all clear" everyone throws them away then has to buy new ones 3 days later when the aforementioned goes "wait a minute..."

If I'm sitting at a light and look over and see you and you are sitting alone in your car with windows rolled up and wearing a cloth face cover? Pretend you don't know me :buttkick:

I have worn a mask only once since getting off the airplane coming home from Alaska first week of August. It was at my dermatologist's office. I decided that day if a mask is required I just won't go there.
Got home last night from an event in Phoenix that had over 3,000 people and not one person had a mask on for entire weekend.
I had covid in October and have antibodies which is just as good as the vaccine in helping with future infections and symptoms.
It stops when we decide to say "No More".

No way in hell I go certain places without a good mask. Some places have mass crowds in NY and folks that may not exactly take better care of themselves. Same as any medical places that may have any patients. But most places no need.

Big difference though, Carter was at least a good man. Carter tried to be a good man. He was a horrific president but a good man. Biden is neither a good man nor a good president and clearly fancies himself the best of both.

I just don't want him in charge of anything more important than Habitats for Humanity.

I never worried before about catching the flu. Just assumed I would deal with symptoms and go on with life. Just like I did when I got covid. I feel I have a good immune system. If I didn't I might think differently.

On the rare occasion I wear a mask, I wear an N95. It's not worth arguing about to go into my granddaughter's elementary school or Walgreens.
As far as nasty people go, I think of a lot of places to wear protective gear pre-China flu. It didn't take a Chinese covid factory to convince me there are some filthy-ass dirtbags out there. Wal Mart comes to mind.
I practiced social distancing before politicians made it popular :)

No disagreement. Just the fatalistic mindset behind each proclamation.

I don't like the way things are "mandated" and it pisses me off. But I would likely be wearing a mask in certain environments anyway, they just now made folks not want to ever wear them due to the very mandates. But certain places I want one myself, like a hospital or doctors office or anywhere that has a higher chance of someone infected possibly being around. And places I must go to that require them, same as I feel mostly - just pick my battles and wearing a mask for a few moments isn't a huge deal to me in order to get what I need/want.
I just need look inside almost any Walmart to know the protecting myself is more warranted when surrounded by knuckleheads who probably haven't bathed in a month let alone take precautions for their health and that of others.
And man am I glad I'm not surrounded by folks like we see in China, passing around and buying filthy road kill to cook for the next meal.

Should try an elementary school.. Snot running down their faces, nose-picking, eating off the floor, sharing food and drinks little crumb snatchers. I'm fine with the mask :)

Thankfully those days are over! But yeah, that's an environment I have no issue with either.
What irritates me are the folks on bicycles wearing them, people in their own cars, sitting in a park by themselves. Common sense mainly dictates for me.

I guess some simply don't think. If I'm going anywhere I don't put the mask on until I hit the door of wherever I'm going into. And then the second my ass passes the doorway on the way out it comes off. I'm not going to wear it in my truck, nor at home, nor outside, nor friends homes or anywhere else.

The Democrats and Biden have successfully brainwashed the same people who supposedly voted for him. Combined...they have managed to control Education enough to make millions of Uneducated typically democrat voters LIVE IN PERPETUAL FEAR by telling them..."YOU GONNA DIE IF YOU DON'T DO AS WE SAY!"
Control of Education, and keeping the Victims uninformed with FAKE NEWS sources has worked so well. Is it any wonder they want to CONTROL Congress, The White House, and SCOTUS?
Most of the RADICAL CRAZIES LIKE PELOSI AND SCHUMER KNOW...They won't be alive when all of their SHIT HITS THE FAN, and the children, and grandchildren have to pay BACK the TRILLIONS in Debt....with HIGHER TAXES under Socialism.

"Dr. Walensky and other professionals fear that the uncomfortable and restrictive nature of N95's will make people not want to wear masks at all.
"They're very hard to breathe in when you wear them properly," Walensky said.
"They're very hard to tolerate when you wear them for long periods of time."
"I have spent a reasonable amount of time in an N95 mask. They're hard to tolerate all day every day,"
Walensky said. "And in fact, when you really think about how well people will wear them, I worry that if,
if we suggest or require that people wear an N95, they won't wear them all the time."
But lets make kids wear them all day in school
for their "safety".
kids don't have to breath do you want them to DIE of covid or kill the teachers!?

Between the CDC and your out of context crap is the middle, where most of us live. They want to mask everyone including the family pet, and you would have people believe surgical masks serve no purpose. You are as wrong the CDC.
I'm pretty sure if you bombard a mask at close range with a full blast of pure COvID-19, the mask is probably not going to work. On the other hand, any particle of anything that lands on a mask instead of straight shot to the lungs can be somewhat effective. Even a particle of airborne covid.
Actual science states and is proven that placing something -- even my damned hand -- between me and what's there is more effective than nothing. What you're saying is don't bother covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough because your hand can't stop it anyway. Bullshit.
What I have paid particular attention to is that besides my grandkids not bringing covid home, they haven't brought the usual kid crud home either that is normally an annual event.
You are just as willing to misrepresent the facts and truth as Fauci. The only thing you got right is that N95s are uncomfortable. Don't wear one. And don't presume to tell others not to.

Just find out which POLITICIANS have invested in the PRODUCTION and DISTRIBUTION of N95 Masks.
It has all become a planned HOAX. Anyone remember seeing that terrible image every day on Local TV screens and on the MSM's since this began?
THIS IS THE METHOD TO KEEP THE UNINFORMED...SCARED, REALLY SCARED.

Can you quote me saying that people shouldn't cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough?
Can you quote me saying that surgical mask serve no purpose ...for what they were made for... Blocking blood and fluids during surgery.
Why are you trying to paint my POV as some irrational polar opposite of the govt narratives. It a lazy comparison. You're not using the real content. Your making simple categories and tossing me in a box of your own making.
I've said from the beginning that cloth mask and surgical mask are not going to do much if anything to stop a virus. I based this on working with spray paints and sawdust. And what I learned from OSHA guidelines Pre- 2019. Which clearly stated that in settings with bacteria and viruses... including Flu ... Those mask were NOT to be used. N95 we're the minimum and they were to be worn once for short periods.
But Gunny , Anyone who wants to use them are welcome too. But I don't want to hear crap about how I'm MUST wear one ...to protect others... OR ELSE.
The govt has been LYING about mask for 2 years Gunny.
I've simply been pointing it out and defending people's right not to be cocerced into doing something that has little to NO effect.
There's no "middle ground"
Either your for mandated mask and pretending it's highly effective.
Or you think mask are piss poor (and possibly harmful) and wearing them should be voluntary.
The facts and freedom are one side Gunny, even if that makes you uncomfortable.
(BTW here's a something someone posted about mask here not long ago
