This is ridiculous. Everyone in the whole entire world knows that tons of elderly died directly as a result of his orders.

But means nothing in politics.

Manhattan DA Closes Investigation of Andrew Cuomo in Nursing Home Deaths; No Charges Brought

The Manhattan District Attorney’s office closed its investigation into former New York Governor Cuomo’s handling of nursing home deaths.

Cuomo killed thousands of elderly residents in nursing homes with his edict forcing Covid infected individuals back into the elderly care facilities.

Back in May 2020 The Gateway Pundit reported that New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo, Health Commissioner Howard Zucker, MD and Executive Deputy Commissioner Sally Dreslin’s actions led to thousands of deaths in New York state.
In response to his actions, Cuomo released a book lauding his COVID accomplishments.

This is so wrong.

Just on the lying about numbers alone he should be charged somehow. But I have ZERO DOUBT that quite a many died directly as a result of his ORDER. And those very same people would likely be alive today if not.

And, he's not going to be prosecuted for sexual harassment either. He'll probably run for president.

Albany DA Says Andrew Cuomo Won’t Be Prosecuted for Groping Charge

Albany District Attorney David Soares announced on Tuesday that his office will not pursue a criminal charge against former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for groping a former aide in the Executive Mansion in 2020.

Soares said in a statement that while he finds the former aide, Brittany Commisso, to be “cooperative and credible… after review of all the available evidence we have concluded that we cannot meet our burden at trial.”

“As such, we have notified the Court that we are declining to prosecute this matter and requesting the charges filed by the Albany County Sheriff be dismissed,” Soares said.

“I, like most New Yorkers, remain deeply troubled by allegations like the ones at issue here. Such conduct has no place in government or in any workplace. Although avenues for criminal prosecution in these cases are sometimes limited, I encourage victims of workplace harassment and abuse to continue to come forward and bring these issues to light so that these important discussions can continue.”

Unfortunately not all tragedies are criminal.

“I was contacted today by the head of the Elder Care Unit from the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office who informed me they have closed its investigation involving the Executive Chamber and nursing homes. I was told that after a thorough investigation – as we have said all along – there was no evidence to suggest that any laws were broken,” Abramowitz said in a statement.

And I recall that the state ethics commission disallowed the profits from his propaganda covid book.

CORRUPTION in N.Y. is wide, and deep. Did anyone actually believe a DEMOCRAT D.A. would do anything different for the CORLEON (CUOMO)family?

I think this is one of those experiences that warrant some new laws, if none covered this.

No disagreement. But you'd probably need to eliminate qualified immunity as well. Or at least severly restrict it.

And regarding the covid immunity referenced in the OP I wouldn't be surprised if most states have instituted laws restricting lawsuits against private business, etc. of any potential covid liability. Georgia has and rightly so IMO.

Perhaps this article will help explain things:

Manhattan DA to stop seeking prison sentences in slew of criminal cases (https://nypost.com/2022/01/04/manhattan-da-alvin-bragg-to-stop-seeking-prison-in-some-cases/)

Who needs soft-on-crime judges when the district attorney doesn’t even want to lock up the bad guys?

Manhattan’s new DA has ordered his prosecutors to stop seeking prison sentences for hordes of criminals and to downgrade felony charges in cases including armed robberies and drug dealing, according to a set of progressive policies made public Tuesday.

In his first memo to staff on Monday, Alvin Bragg said his office “will not seek a carceral sentence” except with homicides and a handful of other cases, including domestic violence felonies, some sex crimes and public corruption...

“The Office shall not seek a sentence of life without parole,” the memo states...

Bragg’s memo also detailed the following instructions for prosecutors to reduce charges filed by cops in various cases:

Armed robbers who use guns or other deadly weapons to stick up stores and other businesses will be prosecuted only for petty larceny, a misdemeanor, provided no victims were seriously injured and there’s no “genuine risk of physical harm” to anyone. Armed robbery, a class B felony, would typically be punishable by a maximum of 25 years in prison, while petty larceny subjects offenders to up to 364 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Convicted criminals caught with weapons other than guns will have those felony charges downgraded to misdemeanors unless they’re also charged with more serious offenses. Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D felony, is punishable by up to 7 years behind bars.

Burglars who steal from residential storage areas, parts of homes that aren’t “accessible to a living area” and businesses located in mixed-use buildings will be prosecuted for a low-level class D felony that only covers break-ins instead of for more serious crimes. Those more serious crimes, class B and class C felonies, would be punishable by up to 25 and up to 15 years in prison respectively.

Drug dealers believed to be “acting as a low-level agent of a seller” will be prosecuted only for misdemeanor possession. Also, suspected dealers will only be prosecuted on felony charges if they’re also accused of more serious crimes or are actually caught in the act of selling drugs. That felony would mean facing up to seven years behind bars.

New York... what is there to say?
