It dawned on me what this "contact tracing" business was a few months ago when driving through New Mexico. When I stopped to eat, a restaurant was requiring all customers to sign a log with ID by state executive order. I was obviously annoyed and will probably wait until I cross another state line before stopping to eat if and when I cross NM again. It's not far to cross NM when driving from Amarillo to Denver. I was caught off-guard and only gave them a hard time. Now I will know to walk out and leave if I see this monkey business again.

I was tracked by the State and the CDC when I had COVID. Is that what you mean?

That's part of it. It also includes business keeping a log of their customers.
