I had a brief conversation with RSR earlier today and he informed me of this news. Politics aside and arguments aside, I wish no one would have to go through such things. We're praying for ya, RSR, and hope you make a full and speedy recovery.

I want to thank everyone who have expressed words of support. It does mean alot to me
Here is what is going on. About 2 1/2 months ago I started to have severe pain in the lower stomach. It was a severe and sharp pain. I was told it was an inflamed intestine. I was put on a short term disability and given antibiotics
When the pain did not get any better, (I thought it was either a kidney stone or appendicitis) I had a colonoscopy about 2 weeks agol and that is when it was determined I have a 6 inch tumor and colon cancer
I will see the Dr on Wed to set a date for surgery. I will have the tumor, the cancer, part of the colon, my appendix, and gallbladder removed
If the cancer has not penetrated the inner walls, the Dr says surgery has about a 90% recovery rate
I will beat this, and I will be back to posting in November
Thanks again to all of you for your kind thoughts and prayers

RSR, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I'd like to offer this from the Book of the prophet Isaiah Chapter 40:
28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The LORD is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
God Bless you

Hey Red,
You WILL beat this, simple as that. Willpower is everything and we all know you have more than enough of that. Besides, we need you here to help this country defeat that socialist Hillary....... Hang in there buddy. God is blessing you...... look how many people are in your corner.:salute:

I look at it optimistically. You'll get through it all ok and while your home recovering you can spend many hours on here posting and slapping liberals around. Nothing like hanging a few liberals out to dry to help the healing process.

Sorry to hear this RSR.
My friends dad had colon cancer and he was able to beat it very quickly and wasn't out of work for too long. Never letting your spirits go down is the key to fighting cancer. We all know you'll beat it and we look forward to seeing you back here and posting as soon as you're done recovering!

Thank you. I plan to fight this and do what the Dr says
I thought of letting this thing win, and being unable to subject liberals to a daily dose of truth and facts is a terrible thought

No comment from me, apparently I'm supposed to only have a "moderate" point of view. I think the long time members here are saying what needs to be said.
Personally, I think there should never have been anything in here other than prayers and good wishes for RSR.
So, RSR, don't let anything negative in this thread get to you. Fight the good fight and know you have the full support of everyone here at DP.

OK, here is the latest folks. Surgery is set for 10/16 - as long as the Cardioloy people do not have to run more tests
My dr told me he will pull the tumor, the cancer, and appendix. he will decide on the gallbladder based on what he sees.
Hopefully, all will work out and there will be no need for Kemo.
Thanks again for all the kind words and I will beat this and be back ASAP
