I think it's more than that. It's become about parents, schools, and the school boards. It is in VA that the Feds have been focusing the 'terror' threat. Deep blue VA. People there are shocked and angry at the board, McAulliff's pronouncements, and their first amendment rights. The cover up of rape by 'gender fluid' individual was gasoline on fire. The police letter to school board president laid out how the police weren't to be dragged any further into the mess if the board's own making. McAuliff chose wrong side.

As usual, the left filling up the cities is non stop relentless, while the mostly red country types are leaving the state. Apparently, there aren't enough numbers independents-wise to actually defeat the Dems if they turn out.

It's a shame. Virginia is one of the nicer places I've lived. You get around DC, Richmond or Hampton and it looks like any other blue cities. Arlington/Alexandria/Fairfax County are just extensions of DC anymore. They were starting to look it last time I was there. The Beltway (495) was almost completely filled with DC spillover.
