Schumer's an idiot. Just can't pass up the opportunity to grandstand and lie. Manchin should just go ahead and switch parties. The DNC is going to go after his seat HARD come reelection time.

UPDATED 11:36 AM PT – Friday, October 8, 2021Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) condemned Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) for insulting GOP senators. Manchin covered his face in disgust and walked out on Thursday after a key procedural vote on suspending the debt limit.
Schumer cast blame on Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and GOP senators, saying he’s glad their brinkmanship didn’t work.
“The solution is for Republicans to either join us in raising the debt limit, or stay out of the way and let Democrats address the debt limit ourselves,” Schumer said in his speech.
After walking out, Manchin told reporters he didn’t think Schumer’s speech was appropriate and called for both Democrats and Republicans to de-weaponize and to stop playing politics. He added he didn’t find Schumer’s comments appropriate at this time.
“The civility is gone and I’m not gonna be part of getting rid of it,” expressed Manchin. “I’m gonna try to get it back and I’m going to speak out when I see someone do something I don’t like.”
Manchin has continued to maintain that Joe Biden’s multi-trillion dollar reconciliation plan carries too large of a price tag.
Meanwhile, the short-term extension is headed to the House and is expected to raise the debt ceiling through the first week in December.
