Question, during these troubling times, should landlords be prohibited the ability to evict a tenant because of late or no rent payments?

I don't see a right answer to your question. Somebody is going to get screwed either way. If it was just the unscrupulous landlords and shitty tenants, I'd be okay with it.

You're a landlord. What's the right thing to do?

A canny Landlord will put up the rent arguing they are offering a disease free zone --- a few strategically placed fly papers and regular hand sanitiser front door knob

cleaning should suffice .

A really smart operator will guarantee those that are vaxxed are banned --- lethal spike protein spreaders/ shedders .And charge extra .

Where to start here

We're talking abought the rights of "We the People"

The landlord who owns the land and buildings. Who also might owe loans on said items and who CERTAINLY pays taxes on said items. And the leaser who has received monies from the taxpayers (you know, the ones who are PAYING into the system) and yet hasn't budgeted for his debts.

So your paragraph starts with ignore what's owed and slap some "band aids" on the property, then DEMAND they forgo their rights as a free human to decide what they will inject into themselves.

AND THEN CHARGE THEM MORE FOR WHAT THEY AREN'T PAYING FOR ANYWAY!

Another American to be gently walked through obvious British humour .

Fly papers and cleaning the front door knob should have face slapped you .

Though banning the Vaxxed and charging for that privilege is just and rewards the smarter people .Who wants a a death exhaling Vaxxy shedding all over you ?

Kind of depends...

IF the landlord's taxes are furloughed and IF the landlord isn't being kicked out of their house for non-payment then maybe. But this should come from private sector agreements, NOT Government - except the tax thing. Taxes should be eliminated for everyone. :)
