I'm reading more and more like this. It does appear that the vaccinated are better protected. But doesn't mean that the non-vaccinated should be harassed in any way.

Hospitalization rate for unvaccinated teens 10 times the rate for those vaccinated, CDC says
As the delta variant swept across the country this summer, unvaccinated adolescents were hospitalized with covid-19 at 10 times the rate of fully vaccinated adolescents, according to a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention study released Friday.
The study drew on hospital data from 14 states between June 20 and July 31, when delta became the dominant variant in the United States. The findings show “that vaccines were highly effective at preventing serious COVID-19 illness” in youths ages 12 to 17, the only pediatric age group for which vaccine is approved, the CDC said.
While the delta variant has driven up pediatric hospitalizations, there is no indication that the highly infectious variant is causing more severe cases in children and teens than earlier versions of the virus. Signs of severe disease in that age group were about the same this summer as they were earlier in the pandemic, the CDC said.
As the delta variant spreads, top federal health officials are warning the White House that the Biden administration’s plan to begin offering booster shots to most Americans later this month may have to be limited initially, according to people familiar with the matter.

NEW DATA DASHBOARD TRACKS COVID-19 RISK FOR UNVACCINATED PEOPLE COMPARED TO VACCINATED PEOPLE
Since July, COVID-19 cases have increased rapidly in King County. The worsening outbreak is affecting all of us. And, people who are not fully vaccinated are getting seriously ill and dying at much higher rates than the vaccinated population.
That’s clear on a new data dashboard, which shows vaccines are reducing the risk of getting sick, hospitalized, or dying from COVID-19.
No vaccine is 100% protective. When a vaccinated person does become infected, we call it a “breakthrough” case. When we have more breakthrough cases that does not mean the vaccines are falling short. It just reflects that a higher percentage of the population is already vaccinated.
Most breakthrough cases are not serious. What is important to know is how much the vaccine reduces a person’s risk of coming down with a severe infection.
Public Health – Seattle & King County created the new dashboard so that anyone can track and compare the rates of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths among unvaccinated and vaccinated people. With weekly updates, it will provide a snapshot of COVID-19 risks for unvaccinated residents compared with vaccinated residents.

What is “relative risk” and why it matters
Relative risk means we compare the risks for COVID-19 infection, hospitalization, and death in unvaccinated people relative to vaccinated people.
The boxes in the dashboard’s top line show the relative risk of infection (positive test), hospitalization, and death for unvaccinated people, compared with those who are fully vaccinated. For example, in the month leading up to August 26, unvaccinated people in King County were:
7 times more likely to test positive for COVID-19 than vaccinated people
49 times more likely to be hospitalized than vaccinated people
32 times more likely to die from COVID-19 than vaccinated people.
