This isn't a good sign, IMO.

COVID-19 hospitalizations of people under 50 reach highest levels to date, CDC data shows

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 are rising across all age groups, but those younger than 50 are being admitted more now than at any point in the pandemic, according to data collected by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The data shows hospitalizations surging past where they peaked during the third wave of the pandemic that in January. ICU beds in many states have become scarce.

And according to the COVID-19 Forecast Hub at UMass Amherst, which the CDC utilizes to forecast COVID-19 trends, the U.S. could start seeing more than 32,000 new COVID-19 hospitalizations a day as early as September.

As of Aug. 17, adults between 40 and 49 are being admitted at a 23.2% higher rate than in the winter peak. Those between 30 and 39 saw a 33% increase.

Eighteen to 29-year-olds saw a jump of 3%. And juvenile hospitalizations rose by 40%.

People older than 50 still saw increases in hospitalizations, but they have not surpassed their rates from January. The age group’s vaccination rate could offer an explanation.

According to the CDC, 91.1% of Americans older than 65 had received at least one dose of an FDA-authorized COVID-19 vaccine as of Aug. 20. Eighty-one percent of them are fully vaccinated.

As a whole, 60.2% of all Americans have received at least a single dose. Only 51.1% are fully vaccinated.

In my neck of the woods:

40 New York counties now at highest level for COVID spread, CDC says. Here’s where

ALBANY - The number of New York counties at the highest level of COVID-19 community spread has hit its highest level yet since the federal government started a transmission tracking system last month.

Forty counties late Monday had reached the "high" level of community spread, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, up 18 a week ago.

Another 19 counties are listed has having "substantial" spread. The CDC recommends people should wear masks indoors, even those who are vaccinated, if a county has a high or substantial rate of COVID spread.

"We continue to fight COVID-19 across the state each and every day, but vaccinations are the key to our success and more New Yorkers need to get their shots," outgoing Gov. Andrew Cuomo said in a statement Monday.

Only three counties remained under the threshold where masks indoors were recommended: Clinton, Schuyler and Wyoming.

The CDC recommends indoor mask-wearing in public in places with at least 50 new cases per 100,000 population over the past seven days or a COVID test positivity rate of 8% and above.

COVID cases continued their rise in New York and across the nation.

Child Covid-19 hospitalizations soar, filling pediatric wings, data show

The U.S. faces another peak in child hospitalizations as the delta variant hits communities hesitant to get vaccinated.

Two weeks ago, only two or three children a day would come into Dr. Nick Hysmith’s hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, with Covid-19, usually ones who were admitted for other reasons, like broken bones.

This week, he is seeing as many as 28 children under 18 a day, some of them landing in the intensive care unit.

Around the country, child hospitalizations for Covid-19 have increased to levels not seen since January, when U.S. cases and deaths were at their highest levels, according to the latest government data. Doctors in the hospitals hardest hit by the recent surge say the situation is worse than it was in January.

It happened fast: As of Wednesday, U.S. hospitals were tending to an average of more than 1,200 children a day, twice the number from the end of July and four times from the start of July, according to an NBC News analysis of data released this week by the Department of Health and Human Services.

On what possible basis would you believe anything told to you by the CDC ?

This is just the next predictable lie to concentrate the narrative toward younger and younger age groups .

Why would anyone younger than 60 and with a brain take a potential kill shot to lessen the symptoms of something which has a death outcome around 0.1%--- identical to common flu ?

You would have to be either a complete moron or so hysterical and scared that you had lost your mind .

I stay informed of everything and try to read a ton, foreign sources included. Then make informed decisions in the end.

I get it if you don't want to read anything contrary.

For any flaws that they may have. There credibility is light years beyond whatever you're putting out. All you're able to do is nip at the edges of available information and attempt to find meaning where there is little.
