So no smoking gun proof or anything like that - but we are learning that they avoided talk of the possible lab leak in Wuhan so as to not help Trump or be associated.
So basically they lied, avoided the truth, misspoke, mislead or whatever you want to call it. Surprised yet?

Scientists Admit Covering Up Lab Leak Theory to Avoid Being ‘Associated’ with Trump
By way of an unforgivable (but very revealing) act of silence, several scientists now admit to having misled the country for more than a year by covering up their belief that the coronavirus lab leak theory is valid enough to warrant investigation.
In other words, here’s one more reason to never again trust the scientific community.
What we have here is an astonishing admission and one more reason not to believe the so-called scientific consensus about ANYTHING, most especially life-altering issues such as Global Warming or Climate Change or whatever these charlatans call it today.
Think about it…
If a herd of scientists is willing to lie through an act of omission about the lab leak, imagine the other lies they’re telling us — or are allowing to be told — when it comes to everything else.
Far-left NBC News reports:
[Alina] Chan was one of 18 scientists who published a letter in the journal Science last month calling for a more in-depth investigation into the virus’s origin that takes into account theories about both natural occurrence and laboratory spillovers. The letter helped kick-start a new round of calls to investigate the “lab leak hypothesis,” including demands from President Joe Biden and several leading scientists.
…
Chan said there had been trepidation among some scientists about publicly discussing the lab leak hypothesis for fear that their words could be misconstrued or used to support racist rhetoric about how the coronavirus emerged. Trump fueled accusations that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a research lab in the city where the first Covid-19 [Chinese coronavirus] cases were reported, was connected to the outbreak, and on numerous occasions he called the pathogen the “Wuhan virus” or “kung flu.”
“At the time, it was scarier to be associated with Trump and to become a tool for racists, so people didn’t want to publicly call for an investigation into lab origins,” she said.

The science around the lab leak theory hasn't changed. But here's why some scientists have
Alina Chan isn't saying the coronavirus definitely leaked from a lab in China. What she is saying is what more scientists have grown comfortable discussing publicly: There's no clear evidence either way.
"I know a lot of people want to have a smoking gun," said Chan, a postdoctoral associate at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard University who specializes in genetic engineering and has been vocal about the need to investigate the possibility of a lab leak. "It's more like breadcrumbs everywhere, and they're not always leading in one direction. It's like the whole floor is covered in breadcrumbs."

And while public discussion of a potential lab leak has shifted significantly in recent months, as more people pay attention to a theory that was originally promulgated by former President Donald Trump and his followers, the scientific evidence has remained unchanged, according to interviews with five virologists who have experience in microbiology, infectious disease ecology and viral evolution.
The researchers offered near-uniform summations that few conclusions can be drawn based on the available scientific evidence, but they noted that the context and circumstances of the origin debate have changed, particularly as critics point out that China hasn't been fully transparent about the earliest days of the pandemic.
The shift reflects how some scientists who previously avoided the topic or were quick to dismiss it are grappling with enduring uncertainties about the virus's origin, free from the politicization that clouded such discussions during the Trump administration.

What they are saying is their responsibility to science/Mankind comes second to their partisan politics.

And people ask why so many people DON'T Trust the "Experts".
Or don't "Trust the Science".
one reason is right here.
Because scientist ...sometimes ... don't ...tell ...the TRUTH.
Sometime they SELF censor
and Sometimes they ARE censored by Other "consensus" "mainstream" scientist,
by the media by politicians
and more recently BY SOCIAL MEDIA who have declared themselves the gatekeepers of "facts" for the whole world.
In this case many scientist simply caved to anti-trump pressure.
HOW MUCH easier would they cave if their jobs, funding or careers were on the line?
we always have to ask all the questions and NOT be moved by people who try to tell you to " just trust" fill in the blank authority.

Is amazing how you can justify the corrupt behavior of all the people with TDS because Trump was a buffoon in your eyes.

I'm pretty sure he voted for Trump this time.
The "others behaviors" is what pushed me to vote for him. That still doesn't make his own behaviors, especially after the election anywhere near acceptable to me.
There really is a 'not a good alternative' scenario. I just pray someone comes along.

I guess I'm not surprised politics trumps public safety up to and including our lives and/or livelihoods. Just how it is .

As far as his reelection was concerned, I don't care about that much when it comes to health, and health to the nation. Nothing should have prevented the surgeon general, the director of the NIAID, all involved direclty & the MSM - from telling us citizens the truth. Or nothing should have pushed them to lie about health issues. And that includes the presidency as well. None should ever get a pass in that department.

Too many medical politicians and then politicians who thought they were doctors. Facts are though, way too many lies were told to the public, from the CDC to Fauci to Adams to others to the MSM.
Is amazing how you can justify the corrupt behavior of all the people with TDS because Trump was a buffoon in your eyes.
I think he saw it as more of a byproduct or result of various actions, more so than justifying any TDS. I don't think he floats on any side, right in the middle somewhere. :)

Believe he did as well. I too, as a major supporter of Trump's, saw issues from him as well as results of former actions and such. And I get that, someone like a Romney being 'created' as a result of his relationship with Trump. Every action has a reaction as they say. But I think when it comes to things like health issues and the truth getting to the public, or outright lying to the public - personal issues with one another should never alter the truth here. They could hate him with a passion for all of his actions and hope he croaks daily - but that should never be a reason to not disclose information like this. IMO, never a good reason for Fauci to lie to the microphones. Same with Jerome Adams. Same with all other medical professionals brought in to help. Same goes for the MSM.... ok, gonna be a LONG time I think before we see the entire mainstream mediato ever revert back to telling the news, not opinionated alterations. Not sure it'll ever go back though. Now they have a recipe for success. :(

I don't justify any corrupt behavior and I also don't justify buffoonish behavior. Actions have consequences and IMO he lost because of his actions and we also lost the Senate because of his actions. He could have won and he screwed it up.
EDIT:
Is the question on the floor did I vote for trump? Yes, I voted for trump. Biden is a doddering fool and Kamala shouldn't be anywhere near an executive branch of any sort; Pray for Biden's health.

Related and just a note to Dems that both the person and policies matter. One can like the policies, but the person is just unacceptable. (Pretty sure this idea made up the bulk of my posting ideas in 2015-16 too). So, here we are, at this point in time just about 5 months into his term, Biden is 'liked' better than Trump, (but on downward trend), but with all his 'experience' the approval of policies is rapidly falling:

No excuse.
I agree Trump screwed himself after the election and most likely screwed the GOP in the Senate. I do recall wishing he'd STFU at least until the Senate race was over. While he did himself no favors, the Dems stole the election and I got some land for sale for anyone that thinks otherwise. I promise I do. I'll even show you a picture, just send the money. Truly is the centerpiece right there.
We know now many of the lies that Fauci told us. The CDC. And they were just the major players. There were lies and lies and enough lies to go around. It was one huge political football being tossed around & many involved were using it as a political tool towards the upcoming election. Then of course the media got involved and ran top speed with anything remotely damaging to Trump, truth or not. Crushed helpful things to damage Trump. Kept people at home all along in order to keep things chaotic for as long as possible and to blame as much of it as they can on Trump. Then try to run with scare tactics and fear porn. That's when I think we saw a shit ton of lying about numbers and how many died. This isn't discounting the virus as it is very real and very deadly. But doesn't change those underlying facts, as it was later proven beyond a doubt that a ton and then some were labeled covid deaths when they clearly were not.
The difficult part is connecting the 2 - and proving that connection. But proving they are scummy liars is easy.

More people died than had to. Censoring medical professionals who tried to inform public about hydroxychlorocline and ivermectine because Trump said it worked is a direct cause of many deaths.
@FJ ... I don't care who you voted for. My observation was that you were insinuating that the lying and cover up of lab leak was due to Trump's behavior. Actually, it was a direct result of individuals making a decision to let politics affect disseminating important info regarding the virus.
Buffoonism is not a reason to make life and death health decisions for millions of people around the world. Unless, of course, you think the people hiding that info are buffons.
threesevens (https://gab.com/threesevens) i am a pharmacist. We were threatened by our Board of Pharmacies to take away our licenses if we dispensed hcq for covid. Citizens should sue Boards of Pharmacies as well as Medical Boards. They are complicit with restricting our citizens with prophylactic and effective therapies to cure covid. I am a believer in these 2 agents myself. I took them prophylactically . My husband also took hcq when he had covid and his symptoms resolved within hours. As far as safety, these agents have been around for decades and decades for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, parasites , malaria. People can be on it for decades and decades to control their arthritis(hcq). They can’t say now that they are unsafe. Claiming now that they are unsafe after decades of safety data is bogus and agenda driven.

I don't like Biden or his policies. He's corrupt, racist, pervert and a bully. That doesn't even cover his disastrous foreign policues. He just doesn't use Twitter like Trump did but his actions are worse than words.
He bullys the press that dares asks pertinent questions. He sniffs every woman and child he gets close to. He gives Putin an oil pipeline while shutting down American energy. He then cuts aid to Ukraine making it easier for Russia to move in. He's created a humanitarian crisis at the border. Inflation is already creating another crisis.
So what if he doesn't chastise the fake news on Twitter ... doesn't make him a nicer person. He's still rotten to the core and deep into the swamp.

You and most who voted against him do not like Biden. Now some that voted for him are beginning to agree with you. More though are having a problem with his policies. Those missing the devisiveness of Trump's tweets and some of his comments though? Not so much. IMO, he would have benefitted greatly by explaining his policies more and curtailing his venom more.
Biden's policies, aka progressive agenda cannot be explained.
I'm saying he acted like a buffoon and caused behaviors of others. Stupid all around and none of it needed to happen.
I agree that his style caused his loss and certainly the Senate, at great cost to the country. I won't blame the actions of his followers on anyone but themselves. However leaders know that there are followers that are not stable. The progressives are playing those same cards today.

Logic and truth are the direst of mortal enemies to those raving imbeciles, imho.
