View Full Version : Totally predicted Biden's response to the Colonial Pipeline
I just want to say I could see Joe Biden's response to the Colonial Pipeline fiasco a mile away.
Day One of the Colonial Pipeline attack: The news reports that hackers have inserted ransomware in the control systems of the pipeline. The only successful way out of ransomware is to have a clean backup of the system. I would assume they had backups going back months - I'm in IT at a large financial institution and I know we have months of backups.
Day Two: The news reports that Biden is upset about the Colonial Pipeline and that it is one of several crises that Biden is facing right now. The news say Biden is criticizing Colonial for allowing it to happen, even though Biden doesn't know the difference between "IT Security" and "his ass". I immediately said to Abbey "Biden's going to immediately order that the ransom be paid, because writing large checks is the only thing he knows how to do".
Day Three: The news reports that the pipeline is back up and running. The news doesn't say why it is back up and running. Biden has a news conference to proclaim that the pipeline is up and running. When asked if he paid the $5 million ransom to the Russians, Biden says "no comment".
Day Four: The news admits that the ransom was paid. Doesn't say who paid it, but I am positive that Biden wrote the check.
The presidential portrait of Joe Biden should just show him in a fireman's outfit holding a firehose with a huge stream of cash blasting out of the hose going in all kinds of random directions (but not in productive directions). That is the single idea he has ever had - spend enormous amounts of cash that will bankrupt America, and the next President can try to clean up the mess. He is truly the definition of PATHETIC.

That kinda sounds like conjecture.

That kinda sounds like conjecture.
Maybe, but conjecture that is fully supported by all known facts, and fully supported by all of Joe Biden's past actions. :salute:

That Biden paid the bill?
I must have missed that news story.

Yes, I admit that it is my conjecture that Biden paid the bill, or ordered it paid. The part about the ransom being paid at all was originally conjecture on my part also, but has since turned into fact.
We will see if the part about Biden paying it bears out.

From The Liberal/DNC/Clinton Fake News Network that NEVER TOLD A LIE???
https://www.cnn.com/2016/08/03/politics/us-sends-plane-iran-400-million-cash/index.html
(CNN) —
The Obama administration secretly arranged a plane delivery of $400 million in cash on the same day Iran released four American prisoners and formally implemented the nuclear deal, US officials confirmed Wednesday.
Does it even matter whether SLEEPY paid it, or knew about paying it???
The FORMER U.S. announcements HAD BEEN...."WE DO NOT PAY RANSOM'S" Unless you are a LIBERAL, SOCIALIST, PROGRESSIVE, RADICAL, DEMOCRAT, PERPETUAL LIAR???

You my friend have eyes that see and the fortitude and intellect to see and speak of the devious workings of the dem party and their new puppet --Puppet Joe. Yes, the new puppet is back on the same path the the obama ran on. That of leading this nation further down into the "glorious" -insane world of liberalism/socialism. Reality is these people-these dems are hellbent on creating that fantasy they think will be a paradise.
And doing so while pillaging, stealing and destroying whatever they can to enrich themselves along the way.
One that is not blind can see this and understand just how deeply evil it is-- and just how deeply criminal it is as well..
All of them -"faithfully" break their oath of office and work against that which they are elected to do -and that which --- BY OATH THEY ARE SWORN TO UPHOLD"!--:salute:
What is even more amazing is how mainstream media lauds them for it and how the majority of this nation's (dumbed -down) population fails to see it ! Those all for it-- must thank the socialist /liberal public education system and its great success in its true goals set by its corrupt and devious creator --the dem party. imho..-Tyr

We will see if the part about Biden paying it bears out. What I caught on the news is Colonial paid the bill. The mealy-mouth Biden appointee proclaimed from on high it wasn't the government's business. I don't recall this woman's name but she needed to be slapped in the mouth. With a smirk bordering on chortling, she stated that if people had electric cars they wouldn't be sitting in line for gas. It was noted that she has a a multi-million dollar investment in alternative fuels. I had a hard time digesting the fact that she was speaking to the American public in condescending, mocking manner.
Isn't Biden the one drooling "infrastructure" every other word? Isn't cyber security "infrastructure"? He's incompetent. I think the Dems are waiting on the right to prove it, or not, so they can install the personal they really want in the Dingey-white House.

In theory I agree with you 100%. The best systems and best software and best hardware should all be used when it comes to backups and retaining necessary information. In some places that's customers information, or outright money.
But I've been shocked in the industry to say the least! Being someone in charge of backups in many places I had first hand experience in what servers were used, what software utilized and how many successful backups were in our possession or stored off-site.
For 1 example, at a large law firm in NYC, I was solely in charge of backing up 122-127 servers nightly. Ad all different kinds of schedules. From incremental backups to full backups. Mail was the most important and treated like crap. We had fails left and right. Why? The servers were old outdated compaq crap. Then I finally convinced them on much better hardware tape technology for doing the backups. Then what? They effing stalled because they didn't want to invest in more $$ for actual tapes to store the backups on. (yes, was late 90's into 2000's) So we had sporadic failing, and was either the tapes fault or issues related to the servers. Kinda hard to be user error once the backups were created as they simply did their thing. And then when the shit hits the fan, guess who gets held accountable? The little guy at the bottom, who complained about his job because they wouldn't invest.
I saw it at Sony as a contractor. They wanted the world but barely wanted to invest in back end technology. If they couldn't sell it and make money, they didn't want to invest. At least in that one HQ in NYC, my division.
Then I saw the same thing at another law form. WTF? Backups may sound lame and be tedious, but when things hit that fan - everyone looks for a backup and they are the most important thing in the world at that point. So should be invested in properly before hand.
So if they or someone wrote a check - tis possible they didn't have backups they needed to beat the hackers.

Seems they didn't have a backup or the hackers had some other info that required they pay up.
