It seems that white people are being punished for being white.
..
So even if you are equally in poverty and equally in need - no whites allowed.
No unity here, just more separation. These are not good plans. By ALL means, help out the poor black families if they are in dire need. I have NO problem with that. But then also offer it to others, blindly, and doing so without taking the families color into account for qualification purposes.

Your income must be at or below 50 percent of Oakland’s median income
You must not be white
The excuse for excluding whitey, per the far-left Associate Press, is that “White households in Oakland on average make about three times as much annually than black households[.]”
Yeah, but, um, 10,000 white households do not.
Okay, but they are still white. Duh.
The good news — if you’re a total lunatic — is that while poor whites are excluded based only on the fact they are white, illegal aliens do qualify for the $500 per month. Per Yahoo, the $500 is not taxable “and undocumented and/or unsheltered individuals also qualify.”
Let me run that Yahoo sentence through the Orwellian translator: “illegal aliens and the homeless also qualify.”
Ah, but do white illegal aliens and white homeless people qualify?
Oh, and how do you prove you qualify? Is a racist ID required?
Do Asians qualify as “people of color,” or is this one more hate crime against them, just like all the other hate crimes against Asians that happen exclusively in Democrat-run cities?
What about a white person who is both homeless and an illegal alien; would this person qualify?
The city is going to try and get away with this blatant racism by claiming the fund being used for the $500 payouts is a private fund. We’ll see if that flies, not only with the people but with the Supreme Court.

Oakland to Give $500 per Month to ‘BIPOC Families’ to ‘Eliminate Racial Disparities’
The Mayor of Oakland, California, is rolling out a program that awards low-income black families, foreign nationals, and the homeless $500 a month — and apparently excluding white households living in equivalent poverty.
According to CNN, the “Oakland Resilient Families Program” will give the extra cash to families with at least one minor child, selecting recipients at random from an online database:
To qualify for the Oakland Resilient Families payments, families must have at least one child under 18. Their income must be at or below the area’s median income: around $59,000 for a family of three.
But half of the available spots will be reserved for very low-income families — those who earn below 138% of the federal poverty level — or, about $30,000 per year for a family of three.
An online, multilingual screening form will be released later this spring and summer, after which families will be chosen at random to receive the payments. The program is also open to undocumented and/or unsheltered families. Because recipients will not be required to work for the payments, the money is not considered taxable income.
The program is reportedly funded by private donations rather than tax collection, and it will select 600 families for the payouts over a year and a half — a total of $9,000 per family, distributing $5.4 million out of $6.75 million the organization has raised so far.
