A recent interview with Joe Biden was surprisingly candid:
Interviewer: “You said you want to work bring both parties together. How do you plan on doing that?”
Biden: “I said the word ‘unify’ in a press conference”
Interviewer: “That’s all you’ve done?”
Biden: “No, I went on to say the word ‘unify’ several additional times.”
Interviewer: “Are you going to compromise at all with the other party?”
Biden: “No, when I said ‘unify’, I meant for them to unify behind my party.”
Interviewer: “Why did you say you’re starting from scratch with the fight against Covid? Your predecessor handed you two approved vaccines in record time.”
Biden: “I meant besides the two vaccines I’m starting from scratch.”
Interviewer: “How about the $15 minimum wage? Doesn’t it worry you that stores and restaurants will eliminate jobs if they have to more than double their labor costs? That they will cut back on workers, automate, or close up entirely? You could be killing millions of jobs. When the price of something doubles, people buy a lot less of it. That’s what economists say.”
Biden: “I said I listen to scientists. I never said I listen to economists.”
Interviewer: “I recall you criticizing your predecessor incessantly last year for putting immigrant children in cages on the southern border, saying it was an inhuman thing for him to do. Now you are doing the exact same thing.”
Biden: “It was inhuman when he did it. It’s okay when I do it.”
Interviewer: “Well how do you plan on dealing with this crisis on the southern border?”
Biden: “By calling CNN and telling them not to talk about it.”
