‘Out of Control!’ — Travelers to the UK Face 10 Years in Prison for Lying About Corona Travel History

Travelers arriving in the United Kingdom face up to ten years in prison if they were found to have lied about travel history and fines of up to £10,000 if they breach quarantine rules, Britain’s health secretary announced on Tuesday.

People who lie about having travelled to the government’s so-called ‘red list’ of coronavirus hot spot countries will face up to ten years behind bars, putting the offence on par with possession of a firearm with intent, making threats to kill, and poisoning.

Those found to have attempted to breach the mandatory hotel quarantine scheme will be subject to fines of up to £10,000 and anyone who fails to take a mandatory coronavirus test within 72 hours of their departure or upon their second day in quarantine faces a £1,000 penalty.

A £2,000 fine will be issued for those who do not take a second coronavirus test on their eighth day in the country.

Speaking before the House of Commons, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said: “Anyone who lies on a passenger locator form and tries to conceal that they’ve been in a country on our red list in the 10 days before arrival here will face a prison sentence of up to 10 years.”

Mr Hancock said that he makes “no apologies” about draconian measures, claiming that it is “mission-critical” that the UK blocks more coronavirus variants from entering the country.

“People who flout these rules are putting us all at risk,” he said, adding: “Passenger carriers will have a duty in law to make sure that passengers have signed up for these new arrangements before they travel, and will be fined if they don’t, and we will be putting in place tough fines for people who don’t comply.”

Which of them we speaking of? I believe there are multiple thus far, and I believe Russia supposedly has one too. Pfizer & Moderna and then on the way hopefully is AstraZeneca, Janssen & Novavax. Then all the extras as well, like the crap Trump was given.

The other 3 are in trials right now and then they will likely be released as well. Also, sure you heard of all kinds of variants being found and it appears that we may be taking vaccines yearly kinda like the flu.

Warp speed, that was the best part. And yup, get out of the way and let the professionals do what they do. But quite frankly, as much as I don't trust the politicians, I also am not fully trusting of doctors without question. Millions of doses given and while many reactions, it's quite little overall. I'd like to see more and more as folks get out there for their 2nd shots & then lastly to see how much success there is & overall how it fixes or doesn't fix total infections & deaths. And even with little overall severe reactions, my ass will still hopefully choose the one with the least amount. Still not sure how pricing is? And also, if it becomes yearly, what will yearly prices be? And year after year, if it's recurring, how deadly will it remain yearly?

And while I'll likely be towards the end of the list, further good news I'm reading is that as of Friday they will be available at CVS & Walgreens - BUT still limited in the beginning.

While it varies from state to state, eligibility generally currently includes certain older Americans and essential workers. Those eligibility restrictions will continue to apply to the pharmacy chains until states expand access, which is currently limited in large part due to an insufficient supply of vaccines.

Not a fan of flu shots either. My wellness practitioner, NP, is not getting one nor is she requiring her staff to get it. Her husband had severe reaction and she doesn't want to be part of the experiment.

But if you trust government and big pharmacy, by all means, go for it.

Maybe I've read things you haven't and spoken to medical professionals who know me, and based on that info have decided I will not be taking vaccine. Everyone's health circumstances are different. If there a 95% recovery rate why take a chance on a new drug.

I don't trust them any more or any less than I do for other vaccines and stuff but if the vaccine means the mortality rates drops from 5% to .25% (5% of 5%) then that's pretty significant not to mention the lower risk of lingering effects. But as you say everyone's circumstances are different.

I do, however, think we should say "trump's vaccine" to any democrats that's going to get it. :thumb:

I don't know at this time if they've had a hand in the vaccine or not, but from this POV, why would I let China inject me with jack anything when it is the cause of the damned Chinese flu?
