Just maybe if she were to simply stab him. And understanding any of his capabilities, perhaps subsequent stab wound would have occurred. Maybe in a knock 'em down all out brawl against a superhuman guy, just maybe 10-20 and even 30 (and we're long pushing it at that point)... He would bleed out, not to mention he would lose power prior to that.

Jody Arians is known by name for killing her hubby and because she stabbed him so damn many times - 27 times and she nearly cut his damn head off. Sounds more believable.
