The Washington Redskins Officially Drop Team Name, Logo

News broke on Sunday night that the Redskins would officially retire their team name on Monday, and it didn’t take long for them to make that announcement.

In a statement released to the press early Monday morning, the team announced that they were officially dropping their 88-year-old name.

I like "Kneelers". Whoever posted that. "Cavers", "Grovelers" ... or just "PC Pussies" will work.

Regardless, that's about the last nail in the coffin for the NFL with me. I haven't missed wasting an entire weekend day on it. Now it's on like 4 times a week? The quality of games shows too.

I had a good friend in the Navy during my last years who was a Die Hard Buffalo fan and he always called the 'Deadskins"......"The FORESKINS".

He said they played like LEFTOVERS....(if you get my drift)

How about Sammy Baugh? Sonny Jurgensen? Bill Kilmer, Pat Fischer? Even that little twit Theisman? I could go on. I hate them ALL. Especially George Allen. And every season there were 2 games. Redskins @ Cowboys and Cowboys @ Redskins. One year the Deadskins won the Superbowl and their only loss was to Dallas who was 1-13 that year. Successful Dallas season :)

Have you noticed that any mention of the team now totally omits the word “Redskins”? It’s the new “N” word.

With the new allegations of rampant sexism by the team’s high up employees, the new name should be the “Washington Harassers”. Or would they then be confused with Congress?
