I've been having this issue .... when I'm hot my pulse goes up... as high as 150+. My resting is usually in 60s.
I don't sweat much so it's been theorized my pulse goes up because my body is working to get sweat glands working. I can step in the shade, or put my feet in pool and it'll go back down.
At any rate, I guess I'm a fair weather person after all.

In case you are wondering....this is NOT Virginia Surf. More like California.

Yep. Sassy spoke of one that popped out of the blue the other day. Casa Grande has more of the small ones than anywhere else in AZ, or so I was told. They are like daily, often messing with I10! LOL!I-10 is a bitch from where you go through some canyon and turn north around the NM/AZ border until you get back into flat desert. The wind will turn a truck over easy. Scared the Hell out of me a time or two

Start out in Tucson with the tumbleweeds and so many roadrunners. Up to Casa Grande with sandstorms that crisscross the highway. Onto the north, going from perhaps 118 to 80 in about an hour. LOL! Hell by then you can see the Mt. in Flag, still with snow. Oh, on the way between Sedona and heading east out of Flag, likely to run into Elk herds, again with no warning.
Fun state!

Fun state! That is the route I used to take. For many years. Either I-8 to Casa Grande then east on 10 or vice versa. When I was in 29 Palms I just stayed on 10 instead of cutting off on 8 to San Diego. Almost ALWAYS during the summer. Even did it in my ragtop Jeep one year.
There are quite a few places out there that are ZERO fun in the dark. The wind just makes it worse.

Except for the night sky, it's gorgeous here.

What’s up with the night sky?

Being a 'suburban kid' can't say that we were starless, but ambient light from Chicago never had the stars pop like we'd see in skies at the summer house or on trips to MI or WI-where it truly was dark.
I remember on the trip from IL to AZ, coming to the peak of a mountain road and the sky! It was like driving into the stars, took my breath away! That was in NM and it just got more spectacular heading west and then south. Walls of stars. Seriously, see something flying through nearly every night I watch. There's reasons for more UFO sightings here, by both civilians and military than anywhere else I bet!

Sounds lovely. I thought you were saying the night sky in AZ was bad somehow.

There was a handful of us we saw off and on all our careers because we were the ones that would say "send me to the "Stumps" (29 Palms = 29 Stumps :))".
Better than the desert at night is the one thing I loved about deployment. The stars out in the middle of the ocean. We were usually below the Equator so I got to see stars/constellations you don't get to here. Most everything else about float sucks :). I'd go out on the fantail and sit and try and figure out what the Hell I was looking at :)
Same in 29 Palms. We'd go all over the mountains out there. Climbing, picnicking, the rare camping trip. The silence is what always got to me. There's no city noise. I wouldn't have a problem going back. If I could go back to when I was there as well.
Good times :)
