Well, I don't know about your neck of the woods, but my local Facebook groups very clearly have a bunch of day drinking individuals opining on international events... it's pretty damn funny.

Shar even joined in with a glass of wine the other night as I sipped my Crown, which kicked in her narcotics nicely! She slept very soundly.:beer:

Yeah, I was thinking about that a couple days ago... up at L5, it's not unusual to hear someone crack open a beer at 10 or 11am... and the usual acknowledgment is given that "we're on L5 time"... right now, the whole damn country is on L5 time.

Let's hope that there's less chainsaws and power tools involved in the expanded L5 Time Zone or the hospitals will be further stressed!

I'd better get to work rigging a sling for easy transport like helicopter work.

Speaking of drones, I flew mine the other day. It was warm and partly sunny and the wind was calm, UNTIL I decided to fly the drone, then it picked up. But it flies pretty nice. Has GPS so it stays put until you tell it go somewhere else, but the video leaves a little bit to be desired. It's 720P and really isn't bad, but the camera isn't on a gimbal, so if the wind is jostling the drone around, the video is going to move around too. So cool to see my entire property from the air though, and even the whole town. It'll go way high enough that I can see the whole town. Next CALM wind day I'll have to fly it again and take video to post. I can also see how drones could get addicting, and why people like to buy more and more sophisticated ones, like se7en. He has two. Bought one expensive high end drone and then found there was an upgraded model with proximity sensors, so he bought that one too. Very expensive drones compared to my little $300 el cheapo. Mine has all the usual features though, GPS, follow me, return home, blah, blah, but it doesn't have the camera on a gimbal, and that's going to have to be next.

Yeah, the drones are fun.

Guy I used to work with bought one that was about $6k or so, and we were using it to map possible microwave shots from mountain to mountain. He got a little reckless with it less than a week after he bought it, flew it out of range over a deep rocky chasm, and it disappeared.

It was supposed to return to base in that eventuality, but it didn't. It did a swan dive from 2000' somewhere out of visual range and that was that. Pretty sure he'd failed to set it up properly.

We looked around for it briefly when the helicopter came back for us, but it was no use. He was lots more careful with the next one.

Yeah, the drones are fun.

Guy I used to work with bought one that was about $6k or so, and we were using it to map possible microwave shots from mountain to mountain. He got a little reckless with it less than a week after he bought it, flew it out of range over a deep rocky chasm, and it disappeared.

It was supposed to return to base in that eventuality, but it didn't. It did a swan dive from 2000' somewhere out of visual range and that was that. Pretty sure he'd failed to set it up properly.

We looked around for it briefly when the helicopter came back for us, but it was no use. He was lots more careful with the next one.
Holy crapola... that had ta' suck. Yeah mine has return home if it loses it's signal, but you have to make sure it knows it's GPS location it took off from.

Thanks! She really was a remarkable boat and we pulled off some amazing maneuvers together. Jim even drove her, probably 50-60 miles while he was here.

Hopefully, now that everyone is locked down, that bodyshop guy can un-twist the hull on that frame rack in his shop. I'd like to have her back.

Don't know how many years now I've always said I wanted a boat, looked at them and then never bought one. I live on a huge river, and that flows into one of the biggest rivers in America, and I was born on that river, the Mississippi. I love the water, rivers, lakes, whatever. Not a huge fisherman but my Dad sure was. He just loved to fish, so when he was alive I did fish more because I'd go with Paw, and he always had a boat. Sometimes a couple, and a canoe. I suppose if I had a boat I'd fish more myself, because I do love fish. A nice 16' flat bottom Jon boat is ideal for around here. Big enough to seat three comfortably and each can cast a rod without hooking someone else in the boat in the head, but will still float in about 8" of water. The Wisconsin river gets pretty shallow in a lot of spots, has lots of sand bars. People love to party on the sand bars too, pitch a tent, have a bonfire, big fun around here in the Summer, and the air boats that float. They don't have to worry about sandbars or shallow water, but you do in a regular boat. You need a short shaft motor too. Dang... I think I'm talking myself into wanting a boat again... :laugh:
