I don't know if I trust this or not. Is she trying for political points, or giving credit where due? She's had opportunity to before and did nothing but condemn.

IF she is sincere, I think it's a good thing coming from her. Like I said, the country needs to come together. Bonding both sides to work together to defeat this is what we need - not political fighting throughout.

Ilhan Omar Lauds Trump’s ‘Incredible’ Response to Coronavirus — ‘Unprecedented Leadership’

Freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is offering rare praise for President Donald Trump’s leadership, calling his response to the coronavirus outbreak “incredible.”

“Politics aside, this is incredible and the right response in this critical time,” Omar, a member of the progressive “Squad,” wrote Wednesday evening in response to a list of Trump’s actions in response to the virus and its devastating economic impact. Those actions, shared by the Intercept’s Lee Fang, include “suspending mortgage foreclosures” and “demanding cash payments to Americans.”

I just read this too on Daily Wire. First thing I thought was "Did she get a hold of my coworker's Orange Dreamcicle blend?"

I don't trust her but honestly, considering the people that voted her in are largely represented in the hospitality and retail, this is probably sincere.

All I care about is the fact that they are at least working together to help the ones that got fucked by this.

It’s unreal.

Got to be something in it for her. Let's be real. The official US response has been quite socialist, IMO. And before anybody starts, I am not stating that anything is wrong with the response in this situation, I'm just calling it what it is.

It is all that. My response is the same with the shuttering of government, which is very against our basic freedoms. As with any wartime enemy though, the first responsibility for government is to protect its people.

Second is to secure their ability to get going when the initial threat is alleviated. So that they can continue their pursuit of happiness and property. I don't know that the cash payments are such a great idea, but do think those industries that had been directly hit by this disease, that weren't doing anything financially or ethically wrong, need help.

And no I'm not going to complain if the US government hands me a grand. If I was still paying the bills in my apt it would eat that check in a month. Then what?

The statement is rather concise, probably written for her, and her lips are moving. She's applauding the socialist parts. What else can they say? Should be wondering why anybody cares what she says to begin with.

We are way more of a socialist nation than most people wish to believe.
